Welcome Rena. I have a friend who has ADHD and two kids as a single mom. She has something else too, but I forget what. And she uses it to her advantage. I have 8 mental health issues and I too am learning to use them to my advantage. When I'm up or manic, I get cleaning, artistic stuff done etc. Try and see if there is something you can do that works WITH your illness so it is not as stressful. It'll take time to figure it out, but you will find it if you try. :O)

my name is Rena, having ADHD gives stress.. I also have two kids with ADHD stress, we try to keep every day life real and concentrate on the postive that happens..

WELCOME TO THE TEAM!!!!!!!!! You've come to the right place with the RIGHT attitude and that will start you off really well :) Look through the forums, especially the resources already posted like WRAP, Stress Management Course, and Journaling. Take it one day at a time, minute by minute. But do explore all forums and all threads, join in as many as you'd like. The more you participate, the more you will get out of the team. Hola fellow stressed Sparkers, I am Lynne and I have been pretty much successfully managing my stress well, since becoming a fitter and more focused person with the help of SP since late May 2009. Every year, however, there is a seasonal trigger when the days grow shorter and the night descends @ 5PM, and I realize the Holiday Season is more rapidly approaching than I am ready for. The stress closes in like a cloak of squelching darkness. I DO NOT want to sacrifice my current fitness level/exercise routines in the face of "making everyone else happy" with too much consumerism in an attempt to make a perfect Christmas for everyone near and dear to me. This holiday season, I PLAN to GIFT MYSELF the gift of maintaining my fitness and nutrition awareness and execution within the Holiday Madness, without sacrificing my sanity or compromising the reason and the feeling of the seasons. Lofty Goal? Yeppers. emoticon emoticon emoticon
