I've been diabetic since 2006 and have yo-yo'ed my weight and A1C during this time. Now my A1C is back up to 9.0 and I have to make changes in my lifestyle in order to stop my A1C going any higher. I have recently started walking and doing JessicaSmithtv videos to help. I love the fact that this team is designed to help us become accountable for what we do and walk. I look forward to getting to know you all......and you all getting to know me.

As a side note, I also have other conditions which this team can help with just through my accountability. I have been diagnosed with the following besides diabetes: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and gastroparesis (stomach issues).

Thank you for welcoming me to your team!

Leslie, sounds like you are on the path to success! keep up the good work!

When I was diagnosed my A1c was 9.9. WAY beyond borderline! I had to take meds for a while but now I control my diabetes with ONLY diet (carb counting) and exercise. For the last 3 years my A1c's have been between 5.1 and 5.4. I walk a lot everyday. But, the work I put into it has really paid off! Posting my steps everyday helps keep me accountable. I know what you mean about getting older. I am slowing down all the time.

It is great to have you here on Walking Walking Walking. Welcome!!!! I could not comment on your SparkPage as you have it set to Private.

I am Leslie. In January 2015 I was diagnosed with diabetes at a borderline level. I read Atkins Diabetes Revolution, and I learned a lot. I recommend that book to all with diabetes, pre-diabetes and frankly anyone with a lot of weight to lose, even if they have not had a diagnosis.

My A1c numbers are good now, 5.1. I eat low carb, about 20 a day, and I do a good job of eating to keep blood sugar down. Losing weight, because I'm older, is slow and tough. But in the last 19 months, I have lost 52 pounds, and I have about 10-20 to go.

I am trying to get more walking in, and last week I got 3 days in. I hope to get 3 again this week.

I hope to get off meds and just deal with diet/exercise. Without sparkpeople, I am not sure how i would be doing. As you say........accountability.

I am Cookie. I have done Spark people off and on for a long time. I went from 213 to 170.7 in 2013. Dec 26 2016 I was 212.9. (Whew! I was afraid I had let myself gain it all back. LOL) In January I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I have walked/cycled every day since, except 2. I am now 170.0...new low. My goal is 10,000 steps; 45 workout minutes; 90 total activity minutes daily. Last A1C was 5.6. I joined here because I seem to be trying to 'play the system' with the diet....eating foods that fit the carb allowance, yet are not healthy food. I am also afraid to not walk/cycle. In other words, I am looking for excuses to relapse.

My name is Marilyn Kay and I need to lose 60 pounds. I have a heart condition and am diabetic. I also have sleep Apnea. I am walking as exercise because this is what my Cardiologist wants me to do. I have not been able to walk at times because I get flare-ups of gout in my knees so it is slow going. Now that we are starting to get some summer weather I hope to be getting a lot more walking.

Marilyn Kay

Hello, I am diabetic ll , since 2005. I do well for a while, and then I fall off the wagon. My problem is sweet stuff. I found a great friend here on SparkPeople and everything got better for me. I walk for 45 min to 1 hour every morning and do ZUMBA for 1 hour Monday through Thursday , but for health reason, plus my age , I will be 76 this month, I may have to give up ZUMBA. We'll see.

Hello, I'm a type 1 diabetic; diagnosed November 26 1999. My control sort of slacked over the last few years. I'm trying to lose weight I gained in the last three years and get back to a healthy, active lifestyle.
My four year old daughter has been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes also; diagnosed less than a month ago!
There's no history of diabetes in my family or my husbands family.

I love walking and with all this beautiful summer weather my km's are picking up again.

I look forward to being active in this team and getting to know everyone! :)

Hello everyone, just a small introduction. My name is Lora and I live on a farm here in Missouri. I recently got married to a wonderful man and I have four step kids. I have made walking a big part of my life since moving here. Though P90X is my main workout I still love walking and try to do at least 30 minutes about 5 times a week. It's so beautiful here and I love to feel and smell the fresh air on my walks. I look forward to meeting everyone here and sharing walking advice. God bless you all!

I hope you can utilize the tools here. I like to track my blood sugar on the "other goals". There is a place to log your number 2X a day. Walking is tracked many places including your Spark Points page and WWW's challenge forum.

I'm glad you are here. This is a wonderful place to help you reach your goals!!

If there is anything I can do...just ask. If I don't know the answer to a question...I'll find it.

Welcome, Diane!

If you check your blood sugar there is a goal on "other goals" where you can monitor it two times a day,

This team is kind of laid back...we run ourselves. Please feel free to start any thread you want If it becomes popular I will put a sticky on it so it stays. In the meantime, please walk, walk, walk!! I hope you join some of the games that keep us connected.

The team that gave me the most information on Diabetes was the MANAGING DIABETES GROUP. There are some really knowledgeable people there. It was my life saver when I started here 4 years ago!!

After being active here and finding no team that could track the specific things I needed to track, I started this team....for myself :) I left it public so others could use the tools. I don't do challenges, but you are welcome to start them. I belong to several teams that have those, so didn't need to start them here. As I said, I welcome anyone on the team to start anything they want.

Again, welcome to the team and I hope your time here on SP is as beneficial as mine has been!! I have learned so much and have made a lot of friends on this and the other teams I am on.

Again, welcome!!

Hello Everyone-I am starting week 5 on SP and I just found this team and since walking is my main form of exercise it thought this would be the perfect team for me. In the 4 weeks that I have been on SP I have worked up to walking 1.3 miles at least 3x a week and right now I am trying to work up to the July 29 5k challenge.
I have been a type 2 diabetic for 7 or 8 years now, but have never changed anything in my lifestyle, never got any diabetic education so I didn't really know what to change, but I have learned so much here on SP and have begun to make some changes that are long overdue.
I look forward to getting to know you all working together in our journey to be healthy.
Diane

Hi Melody!! Welcome to the team. Walking is a great way to feel better in many area of your life. I find, when I am sad or stressed...it is very helpful for me to get back to a positive and happier mood if I walk. I use Leslie Sansone Walk at Home DVDs when I can't go outside.

I'm so sorry for your loss and hope you will take care of yourself as your sister would have wanted. You sound like a wonderful, caring person...now just care for YOU which makes it easier to care for others......funny how that works!!

Little by little is the key...also....JUST DO IT!!

Hello Team, my name is Melody..I am not exactly new to Spark. But have aligned myself to start a new...No, not a New Years resolution, just a dedication to myself. I was on the mend a few yrs ago after a pneumonia left me on oxygen for 2 yrs.... Slowly got myself on a walking regime when I joined Spark, and really made some progress. Unfortunately as I was having success, my sister had a severe brain hemmorage near her brain stem. I have spent the last 17 months being her medical , financial and legal advocate .....My sweet angel passed away last month. The dreams that I thought we would share together despite her severe disabilites was crushing.

It is time for me to live, and take care of myself, and my sister would smack me silly if I didn't..
So WALKING WALKING WALKING, I will have to start all over a bit at a time till I can build up.

Take care of your body, it's the only place you have to live..."John Rohm"

Welcome!! I'm glad you both joined the team!! Please feel free to start any threads you like. We kind of lead each other. My favorite part of the team page is the team goals where you can track your blood sugar two time a day. If you join the goals, you will see them under other goals....next to fitness on the top of your Spark Pages. I watch the blood sugar a week at a time and can go back WEEKS if I want to. It is the reason I started this team. I hope you enjoy the threads that have been started as well as the games. You will find awesom Spark members here!!

Please ask for help if you need it...I will try to find the answer or refer you to a place you might find it.

Hi everyone. I just joined this team today. I have been a diabetic for 19 years. It began as gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy and I kept it afterwards. I have type 2. I've lost some weight. I was 239 pounds last January. I was very depressed and lost the first 50 pounds in 8 months because of depression. I didn't even noticed I had lost any weight. A friend pointed it out. Wearing baggy clothes hides a lot so I never noticed. Then on August 24th I joined Spark People. I began at 184 a month ago and am now at 175. I feel much better with the workouts, and meal plans assigned. It's help me manage my sugars, have plenty of energy, and feel good about myself which I haven't in a long time.. My doctor is so impressed with the gradual weight-loss and that my sugar levels are regulating steadily. I've joined several teams and hope to keep my streaks going daily.

Move forward and remember small successes are mild-stones to a bigger picture

Hi everyone! I'm new to the team! I am 23 and have been diabetic for four years now. My diagnosis of a type 2 was changed during my pregnancy two years ago to a slowly progressing type 1. I have a lot of work to do to get my sugars under control. I am looking forward to meeting people who are in similar situations and/or people who might have tips to help me out!
Cheers!

Hi,

My name is Al and live in Grand Rapids, MI.

Deb and I have been married 35 years this Augst; we have 3 grown children...one of which still lives with us.

We USED to walk a lot...but since I fell down some of our stairs just over a year ago walking seems to be more difficult. I did a lot of damage to my knees and just walking in place for 5 minutes is really difficult.

We are taking things day-by-day...some days we go for short walks with Belle our American Indian dog. LOL :)

Blessings,
Al

I'm glad you responded. I never caught your response in my e-m, I don't know why, too many messages (too much spam, -my e-m needs a spark program!). Anyway, appreciate the response. I will start a distance thread as you suggested. Thanks.
The site you mention sounds pretty cool. I'll have to look into it. The idea of walking an imaginary course when I tally my efforts is way cool. Here I go, walking the Appian Way (in my neighborhood!).

Start a distance thread if you want!! I normally walk 2000 steps /mile. That's what America On the Move uses, so I have always used it since I did the walking there.

If you haven't heard of it...it's a site where you can post your distance or steps and "walk" the Oregon Trail, or the Iditerod, or many other choices. I have walked all of them. It's kind of fun. You put down the first day's walk, then the program calculates how many steps (or miles) a day you need to walk in order to make it to the end of the trail by a certain date they set. You can check it out if you want to. I know there is a SparkPeople team, but I don't know the code.

Anyway, I'm glad you joined the team!!! I hope you post often, as you said! It makes doing this thing so much better when you really participate a lot.

Hello, I am new to this Team. If any of you have seen my other posts around the sight you will know I add my comments quite a bit. I look forward to participating in this group as I have walked quite a bit and it has served me well.
I live in a nice quiet, wide street neighborhood with a great course to walk, long stretches with a couple of hills with everybody's dogs saying hello when I walk by! Yesterday was a glorious day to be out, the sky was such a beautiful blue.
I notice in your forum on walking steps that,of course, you register the steps you have walked. Might I just register the distance I have walked? I don't want to mess up the set-up if that is the way you guys want to log in your exercise. I am more comfortable logging in distance though. Is this okay?

Hello every one. I am a type 2 diabetic, who until recently had problems keeping it under control. I started walking a few months ago. Only 5- 10 mins at first, but now I am able to do 10,000 steps a day easily. Because of walking and better eating my last A1C was 5.6 That is down from 7.7 6 months ago. I also have been able to reduce my insulin greatly. I look forward to chatting with every one.

Hi Kathy! I'm glad you are here. I hope you will post on some of the fun threads.

Another thing, you can track your blood sugar daily if you join the goals. It will show up on "other goals".

Welcome, Becky!! SparkPeople has so many resources for us to use. I also live in Oregon and have been on SP for two years. I have lost a lot of weight and hope to continue that, but the friends I have made here are just as important to me, now!

I hope you utilize the tools and get to know the people in your groups.

This team is pretty small and we don't really do weight-loss challenges..we mainly use this place to support each other and keep track of our blood sugar. Some of us do a lot of walking...I just finished 10,000 steps using a Leslie Sansone DVD.

A few of us walk outside ...you can actually map your route here. I have never done that, but I know some people do.

Anyway, welcome and I hope you have wonderful journey on SP.

Hey there, everyone! I joined this team because my mom, Songbird800 is in it, too. She and I are working hard to lose our weight together. I don't have diabetes, but my mom does. I'm doing this while I'm still young to try to prevent or lessen my chances of developing diabetes in the future. I can't pretend to know what it's like, but I know the hardships my mother has gone through. It's great to be here!

Hello, I am new to this team. I use an air walker as I dont always have the chance to go out for a walk. I was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago and have managed to get my blood sugar down to 4.9. I use the air walker nearly everyday, when I am not using it I usually take walks with my dh.

Hi all, just joined this team. I was diagnosed with type 2 about 10 or so years ago. I'm a 41 SAHM of two, btw.

I was running (which I really love even though I am really slow) but recently I decided to try low heart rate training to improve my aerobic endurance. So right now I can only walk in order to keep my heart rate low enough. I have a treadmill at home that I walk on or I will walk outside if the weather is good. I also have a Wii game called Walk It Out, which is kind of fun and good for something different.

Last year I was taking Glucovance 2x a day and shooting insulin 4x a day. But this year I've managed to lose almost 20lbs and have been able to get off the insulin and only need to take Glucovance 1x a day now. emoticon Calorie counting has really helped me. I've been using an iPhone app called Lose It but I might start using the trackers here too. I started reading The Spark book, which got me interested in SparkPeople again. I've had an account for years but never really utilized it fully.

Right now I seem to be a bit stuck with my weight loss and I haven't been eating as healthfully as I could. Time to re-motivate myself!

Sorry for such a long post. Look forward to hanging out with you all here.

Hello! I live in the Orlando area, and so I try to get in as much walking as I can at the Disney World theme parks - might as well take in the sights, right? I also try to get in 3 cardio sessions a week, and TRY to fit in 2 strength training sessions a week. I am working on losing the weight that I've managed to gain in the past 3 years by slacking off exercise.

I am glad you are joining us!! My daughter doesn't have diabetes either, but she is thinking like you. Prevention and/or delay of the disease is a smart thing.

Walking has become my exercise of choice. I walk mainly inside with my Leslie Sansone DVDs but some of them even have me jogging!!

I started this journey at 270 pounds and right now I am 195. I hav a long way to go, but this is not a diet..it's a change in lifestyle.

I track everything that goes in my mouth and restrict my carbs to 150 or less a day. I also track all my walking, both aerobic and just walking aroung the house or outside.

This web site is amazing....I can't believe I actually am doing it!! The support is wonderful. I am on several different teams ...all to help me in different areas of my life.

So, again, WELCOME to this team and SP!!

Hi everybody, I don't have diabetes, however I come from a family that has several members that have the disease (my father being my closest relative that has it). I walk because I want to dodge a lot of health risks and issues (my family has heart disease, hyper tension, cancer and numerous other issues) . I walk because it brings me peace. I walk because it doesn't impact my already battered joints (after 20 years in the military working on aircraft my knees scream if I pound on em too much) the way that running and other sports do. And I walk because I love to do it. I am a mother, a wife, a fulltime student and a jobseeker. I embrace life like I used to embrace unhealthy foods ( emoticon ). Thanks Chas for creating a team that is so perfect for me.

Welcome...this is a tiny team (on purpose). We don't do anything but support each other and play (see fun)

I set up this team so I could track my blood sugar twice a day without having to use the comments part if I didn't want to. (See goals) I also walk as my exercise.

I am Diabetic and walk for health. I started with a mile and now do 6 a day if I can. I walk to DVDs IN the house because it is not terribly safe to walk outside at night and it is too hot in the daytime. Every time it is cool...it seems to rain. Sooooo I found Leslie Sansone DVDs and started with one mile.

As I progressed, I could do the whole first DVD (three miles...45 minutes). It also had some dumbbell exercises while I walked...that is the only way to do them! You already are warmed up and it is so much easier than trying them alone!! Sounds stange, but it works for me. (I am trying to keep my arms toned just a bit)

So.... we don't advertise the group, but those who want to play and have a place to track blood sugar are very welcome!!!

I hope you enjoy this tiny group. Don't feel any pressure...just come as you wish. I'm a terrible leader...I don't lead... lol

The coolest thing is...if there are any goals YOU want to add.....just ask!! I can do that. Then you can have a personal goal that you can track on "other goals".

Thanks! I am obsessing about sourdough, but am tracking it and leaving right now to find more sugarless syrup. I found some that actually tastes good!! I also have to go shopping for some things for my MIL. That gives me more incentive to get out of the house and start the day...I just finished 90 minutes of DVD walking...6 miles according to Leslie Sansone. I also used my 3 lb weights, so am doing well today. Blood sugar is 99 this morning.

I hope your day goes well. You are right...it is a new day!! Every day can be a new start OR a fresh look at an old start...lol

There are some habits that are harder to break, but some that we just need to enjoy in smaller portions. We can't take very thing away from ourselves or we will never thing though this journey that we have to do....Life isn't easy, but we have a new day that we can make changes along the way....we can do this and we will....in time. Learning as we go. Life is GOOD! Enjoy!

Losing weight is so hard sometimes. Right now, I am sabotaging my weight loss by trying to get a sourdough starter that I can keep for a long time. It has become an obsession!! I have two that are yeast bases and they are both doing well. Today I will be trying the "natural" one...started with flour and water. It tooked good last night, but I will only know if it actually works in the recipe. I have to go out and buy some more sugarless syrup for the pancakes I plan to make with it today. It's silly, but having grown up in Alaska...sourdough has a special place in my heart...and lately..in my belly!! lol

YAY!! (VEST)

I used a credit card yesterday and they asked for ID. I took out my driver's license and when I put it away, I looked at the weight!! When I got it, I kind of put a lower number in the weight area....about 20 pounds lighter than I really was. When I looked at it yesterday...it was 25 pounds HEAVIER than what I am today!!! WOO HOO!! I love the picture (they are always so gross and I actually like this one) so I won't get a new one right away. I will lose even more by the time I renew it!!!

Losing pounds and inches is sooooo nice!!!

Everything works out in the end....it was an early morning in at work, but most of what I needed to do is done and I can get some ZZZZZZZ's I will see about getting a walk in after dinner tonight and hopefully feel better, as my walking has been put on hold all week because of my crazy work hours....it will end sometime....but not exactly sure when. Just taking it ONE DAY AT A TIME and doing the best I can....I did have a co-worker say to me that my down vest was getting way to big for me...LOL I laughed and told her how when I bought it I couldn't snap the front closed....now the thing wraps at least 2 inches past the snaps....It was awesome to see today. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm back home!! It feels good!! I enjoyed my visit with my daughter and grandson, but I have so many things that I need to do at home. I hope everyone understands why I wasn't here for a few days.

This season is always terribly busy. In my case, I am preparing for Sweet Adelines competititon in May. I also am going to Idaho to visit a friend I haven't seen in years. She emails me, so must have Internet capabilities. I will keep you guys in the loop!

Hey. I am lucky, right now to walk 3000 steps a day but am working on it, if that is all right, I would love to join the team. I just started taking gliburide last week so am new too the medicine. That is because my sugar went up . For some reason after I started taking the medicine it went up to 486. Yikes! It is getting better but I can only check it a couple of times a week til hubby gets his check in May, then will have to buy strips for both of us. I really need to get my sugar down and look for triggering foods. I have been diabetic for over 7 years but never had to take pills before.

Take some time to dance on a dime and sing from the top of your lungs.
Be silly, get down, put a smile over that frown, and remember who you want to be.
Twist and shout, don't forget to get out, and bring new life to you. The mind is a strange thing. It can make you believe in the impossible or make you beleive it's not possible.
THE ONLY THING STOPPING YOU, IS YOU !! Dance til the inside of your soul smiles.

Yes it is frustrating.

I am travelling to California to see mine, and since my daughter has a meeting in Reno, my son-in-law, my grandson, and I are taking the train. We will meet my daughter in Reno. The reason is that my grandson will be 4 on the 20th of this month and it's the only way we can all be there for him. Crazy? yup!! 4 year olds DO know when their birthday is.

So it will cost a lot to see him, but I miss so much since they live 10 hours away by car. (I live in Oregon) I have missed so many of his "firsts". You are so lucky to be closer...I hope YOUR granddads really don't end up moving.

Their 2 hours away at the moment....plans are being talked about moving halfway across the country within the next 6 months or so....I just hated hearing the little ones upset when the plans didn't have to change really. Instead of today they will come tomorrow and will mess up my sleep schedule for working at mid-night tomorrow night. Things work out, but it is frustrating, then again....life is always frustrating from time to time. Isn't it!?

Where do they live? Close to you? Could you have a make-up Easter egg hunt when they CAN come? Kids love fun stuff whenever they happen...not so calendar driven as we are. Easter candy or other fun stuff should be on sale...you could have a May Day party... Grandparent's day is coming up soon as well.

I hope you get to see your grandkids soon.
I'll keep you in my thoughts today...I know it's a tough one for you.

Why is it that plans change???? We expect one things and then it doesn't happen? Decided to get some ZZZZ's and in a deep sleep when the phone rings ... hearing my 3 yr old grandson crying ... I want to see you....Momma decided to change plans, so Daddy changes plans and poor 3 & 20 month old is upset because they are not seeing Grammie and have to take a nap now. Grammie can't get back to sleep now and becomes really stressed. (wants to hit somebody or something) It's raining and I want to take a walk, but to tired to do anything.....AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I better get some ZZZZZZZZZ's soon or I am going to bust. I am not looking forward to next week at all. I really hate holiday's and trying to get-together with family.

I hope the rest of the day goes better for you Vicki!! If you have a pedometer, just stick it on your waistband and it will count how much you walk...not fast...gentle....but maybe it will help you know that you ARE doing some cardio every time you walk. baby steps to good health

Janet get your zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's grandbabies are wonderful, but you need your strength!!!

Vicki - take care of that bs - it does not sound too good this morning.

I found out this morning that my Mother has finally stopped eating her nightly chocolate candy bar that my sister & I have been tellng her to stop as of this week. I believe she is now concerned a little more abouther bs. Thank goodness.

Wow...I am so sorry it took so long to answer!!

Yesterday I had to get up at 5:00 to exercise because I was going to substitute for a class of first and second graders all day and I knew I wouldn't have time to walk/exercise later in the day. I taught, stayed after school to correct papers and get the room ready for the next day, then drove home. I grabbed a bite to eat, took my meds, and then drove to Sweet Adelines practice. We rehearsed until after 10. I finally got home at about 11:00 at night. Needless to say, I was exhausted.

The answer to your question about walking DVDs:

The first one I used, and the best for warming up and getting some upper body mild strength exercises at the same time is: LESLIE SANSONE WALK AT HOME 3 MILE WEIGHT LOSS WALK A "Power Walk" at Home

I started with that one, doing only one mile. After doing it for a few days, I got curious about the second and third miles. I decided to WATCH the rest of the DVD and actually ended up doing it!! I had walked 3 miles!! I recommend it for all beginning walkers.

That DVD is the easiest one, but uses hand weights or dumbbells in the first and third miles, so I usually still use it as my warm up.

I also use a faster one: LESLIE SANSONE'S Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles! That one has interval walk/jogging in it and it is a good challenge.

I would love to know which tapes to use....I have one walking tape "Walk Aerobics by Leslie Tommelleo"...is she Leslie Sansone?

I've seen you on the MARCHing into Spring with AOM and of course, on my blogs....with the encouraging words....I find that I like smaller teams and hoping to be of some help and give out, as much friendship that I can here at SP. I find that it really is wonderful and seeing such a change in my life. I sometimes don't really know where I should be at times! Work prevents me from walking some days, but as you know I've been walking in the rain lately to get my 10,000 steps in....I have been surprising myself more and more. I just need someone to keep me going....you know what I mean.

An old 2003 photo came to my attention recently of my to sons and I at Cape Cod, MA and looking at that photo has me wondering how much I weighted then. Once I hit the 183 in December of 2008 I came back to SP with a new attitude and so glad I did. I have realized that LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT and nobody else. (correct?)

Thanks for being there.

I walk every morning with a Leslie Sansone DVD. I can give you the names of the ones I use. I was 270 when I started and now am 203. The cool thing is I can walk and them immediately take a shower.

The one that got me started and liking it, includes mild strength training....I started with a 2 lb dumbbell and now use a 3 lb one.

I am 59 and feeling SO much better at this weight. I am trying to lose over 100, but slow and steady.

Good Morning, Chas & Vicki
I am not having a blood sugar problem yet! My mother is having issues with hers and I am not sure how to help her with the condition. I am hoping that both/either of you can help teach me the basic to help her control her levels....I have been trying to get her to walk daily, but it is hard to talk people into doing things....I live 1+ hours away from her, but my sister lives next store and we talk about MA almost daily. The last E-mail I received talked about her blood sugar taken 4/7 by the Dr. said it was a 7 and the Dr not wanting it to get to a 7.1 or else she would have to go into another pill that he didn't want her to go on....My sister has informed me that MA is eating pasta the past 3 nights for a meal and MA e-mailed me about doing a little more walking than she has been. I have been trying to talk her into walking daily and it has been like talking to a wall. It looks like Sunday MA thought she would walk outside for a short period of time and see about walking daily....now it will be interesting to see if she does. I myself LOVE to walk and use a pedometer everyday....I am wondering though....Chas how is that you get so many steps in daily????? I try to do at least 10,000 steps a day and some days that is difficult. Of course, everyday is different. We have our good days and our bad days. I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts with both of you....Have a Wonderful Day putting one foot in front of the other.

I started this team because I wanted to have a place to record both my walking and my blood sugar levels. I have lost weight walking with Leslie Sansone DVDs and doing mild strength exercises (included in one of her DVDs) AND watching carbs and calories.
I live in Oregon and walking outside is not always an option.
