I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 months ago, finally found a doctor that recognized it, because I don't have the typical cysts. No cysts, but I do have the insulin resistance, testosterone, missed periods, etc. Supposedly I do have hypothyroidism as well but was diagnosed by my primary, my new endo says I dont have antibodies against it so it should be sub-clinical and wont have to be on meds for the rest of my life, yay! Hopefully! Just spending most of my time trying to make myself right again. I'm a recent grad school graduate looking for jobs, and right now my health is my main priority after ignoring it in college. Found a great endo to work with after being dismissed by my primary and gyno, and just looking forward to the future! Will be getting off metformin shortly (i believe the doctor only wanted me on for 6 months, I am currently supplimenting with Inositol, Choline, and magnesium. Anyone have good luck with these without metformin, kinda scared to get off it. Lost 12lbs, and my body is reacting normally now to food/excercise, before I'd GAIN weight, did a juice diet for three days...gained 5lbs I am currently trying an Insulin Resistance diet, linking up carbs with protein, and it seems to be working great!
