Welcome to the team. PCOS can be tough but I think sometimes the hardest part is just wrapping your mind around the things that you need to do to be healthy. I, personally, have found that portioning out meals and snacks ahead of time makes me stay on track, and it also forces me to plan my meals and grocery shopping so that I am not just mindless picking stuff up. Using the nutrition/meal tracker here on SparkPeople makes me more accountable to myself and helps raise red flags when I am slipping away from good nutrition habits.

Good luck in your journey and feel free to post & ask questions. We are all here to help and support one another.

ELMINSTER, I'm so glad you found us. My name is Carolyn. I am the groups "leader" but I think you will find that here at PCOS naturally, it is a team, a group effort, if you will. I too know how difficult it is to maintain a healthy eating practice in order to lose the weight. I am in the 2 1/2 week struggle as we speak, trying to come up out of it. I did so well for the first month, lost 16 pounds, 8 inches (doing Zumba) and then...I started to feel under the weather, and it really has taken a toll on my commitment. I have to just keep trying. Remember that I'm beautiful. That I'm worth it. In the end, the struggle, and coming out of the struggle time and time again, will be success. Hang in there and I'm here. (hugs)

HI!

I'm a 33yr-old with PCOS and a few other interesting things going on in my health. I have been resistant in the past to joining a group discussion, but I think this time I could really use the support.

I'm very happy to see a group that is organized with PCOS, the last time I attempted Spark there wasn't a group and I couldn't organize one myself because I was just starting my career.

I want to lose weight in a healthy, controllable manner. I'm scared that I won't be able to maintain the loss and that I might revert to some very unhealthy eating practices that I used to lose a lot of weight early in college.

I'm here to try to do it right this time.
