I've been on Sparkpeople for years and come and gone. I came back this time just to find people to talk to about food sensitivities, learn from them, and find recipes. It's starting to look like I was overweight all this time because of bread. lol

Lots of people in my family have been coming down with Celiacs and I found out I wasn't tested correctly when I was checked years ago. I don't have insurance so I just started cutting out gluten in January, besides, as I understand it that is the only way to know for sure that you have the problem. GI problems I have had for 20 years went away. Problems that I didn't even know were unusual went away.

More recently I figured out I also have a problem with Yeast. I don't know if it is a Yeast Allergy or a Yeast overgrowth. It is so hard to find information on Yeast overgrowth that isn't just promoting a book or something, I just know for sure I can't hand't anything derived from yeast. I read a preview of a book that looked really good and have ordered it from Amazon and hopefull will get some reliable information from there.

I've stopped my RA flares, come off an anti-depressant and GERD medication, my skin has improved, I've lost a lot of weight, stopped all cravings... It's hard not eating my favorite foods, but I don't crave them like a fiend anymore and the health improvements are worth it. Now I'm learning to cook.. not just cook a new way... cook. I used bottles and cans for everything so never knew how to cook properly. Last night I took my second stab at making Ranch dressing from scratch. It came out so well I was informed that I need to make it for the whole family next time instead of just myself. lol. I used to hate cooking, but under these circumstances it is a LOT more rewarding. I'm actually enjoying it for the first time. Next... Mayo or Steak sauce, haven't decided which yet.

Get my stomach happy and stop my RA flare ups.
