I can't help with much but when I was diagnosed, my GI specialist also told me to cut out all dairy from my diet. I has actually helped. Not much, but enough to notice.

hello, my name is Lianne and I am 47 years old. I am an american living in Germany. A friend of mine sent me to this website because of my various health related issues and my eating concerns and weight concerns. In 1997 I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and really have not basically been told very much about it. I have been depressed for umm..95% of my life, if you want to know why I will tell you another time, or maybe once I get to know everyone. Anyway, after coming here to Germany I was diagnosed with not only fibromyalgia but with Post Traumatic Stress disorder. Also, I have herpes simplex virus and have break outs very often..well honestly its only on my butt and it never goes away. And they only give me cream for it and trust me it never helps. hmm..I also have eczema and just found out I have Gastritis. I have had a total hysterectomy and am not on anything at the moment but have been told that I am in the prestages of not only osteoporsis but menopause as well. so as you can see I am having a lot of medical problems and I am really in need of some advice and some help here. I am really looking for some others that have the same problems as me and around the same age as me. just to encourage me and help me in any way. there are alot of other things I could say here but I will save it for another time. Right now I am on Prednisone, Claversal and Azathorpin and something else. I posted something on my page if you would care to read it. I am really suffering bad right now with a lot of bloating and gas. I am always feeling full and constantly find myself eating eventhough I am not hungry and I do not know why. I am always tired and my hemoglobin at the moment is 11 and when the gastro suggested iron I told him it only causes me to have diarreha so we are skipping it. I think my immune system is intolerant to iron because I have been anemic and had problems with my hemoglobin all my life and all the iron and anything that is suppose to help me get iron does not seem to work for me. The gastro doctor said it is related to the colitis and not the hemoglobin...hmm..I doubt that but it could go hand in hand. I do not know. Also, I do have problems sleeping, always have as long as I can remember. I do not know what to say on that matter, but I will get to that when I can. I said I am really looking for some advice and some help in any of these areas and would like to have some friends that also experience problems with this. And also like I said I could list other things that I have problems with but I do not want to over do it in this introduction.

thanks and I look forward to getting to know some of you and reading what all of you have experienced and your advice in any of these areas.

oh by the way. I asked to have a lactose intolerant test done and the gastro doctor told me just to cut it out of my diet and if it helped then I knew I was lactose intolerant. He basically said I should not have one. I would like to know if I am lactose intolerant, just for my sake. Should I push this or just do what he says and see if it helps any. Can milk be one of the things that can be causing the gas as well?? Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated
