AMEN!!!! I truly believe that if we can become serene, we will also become more slender due to lack of stress and pressure. He IS in control of all. If I can only hold on to that truth, and stop trying to control things myself, serenity will come. Thankfulness is the straight path to serenity.

Hi. I'm a 65 year-old wife, mother of 2 and grandmother of 5. I'm a retired teacher (HS English and Computer Apps.) I'm facing major life changes (DH will retire within 2 yrs., and we will move yet again.) I've been stressing over many things these past few months, and have eaten everything that didn't move during that time.

I'm looking for serenity, and I've come to believe that thankfulness is the shortest path to that place. Today I awoke with a light heart and an upbeat spirit -a vast difference from the gloom and darkness I've been living in for a long time. Today I choose to be thankful for each and every blessing no matter how small.
