Good morning Debbie and welcome to SP emoticon
Spark People is a great place but I find that I need to limit my time here. There is so much to see and do that I can spend hours surfing the site instead of getting myself up and moving. Guess I'm just not as disciplined as a lot of the other users.

I think the food tracker is wonderful. I never realized how quickly my numbers were adding up and it really helps to get a reality check. ;) Drinking water and portion control is/was a HUGE problem for me. I find it hard to make myself eat more often during the day but it really does make a difference.

Looking through some of the recipes have given me ideas of how to improve my own cooking even when I don't follow the recipes given to a T.

I weigh myself once a week and keep a tablet tucked away in my nightstand that no one ever sees but me. I've found that jotting down my weight AND measurements each week really helps me because even when my scale doesn't move for a week or two, my measurements will usually tell a different story.
With all the wonderful, helpful people and information here I'm sure that you'll be able to put a few little things together here and there that works for you. I'm a firm believer that not everything works for everyone, but there is something out there that will be the right fit for you.
emoticon I like getting out of the house and going to Zumba ;)
Best of luck to you,
Patty

Welcome. The little breaks of 10 minutes or so really do add up over the day You could plan for 10 minutes every hour or so and work on a different part of the body (strength, aerobic, legs, core, etc) and I'll bet you find yourself feeling a lot stronger.

Certainly set some reasonable goals and make a plan that allows for some wiggle room so if you are having a hard day, you haven't blown the entire plan.

Hope you enjoy your vacation.

Hello sparks people, I am so excited to meet you!
I have spent a lot of time on the PC learning just about everything from the how to's with your PC to IM (internet marketing) and all that, that my whole body needs a workover! (I've let my body down)
I'm going to Cabo at the end of Oct. so I need to be looking "ok" with being in my bathing suit, which never use to bother me until now and I have some challenges with back/neck pain along with some knee pain.
I do have a fit bit that I need to start using again! I am motivated to get back in shape and also try to stick with only a handful of projects to do instead of trying to do as much as I can in a day.
I have been setting a timer to do some sort of physical activity like walk my 2 li schnauzers and take a brake from sitting so much,
I found this site back in May and I'm just now filling out all there is you have to offer on the awesome site, There is so much to read and do I don't know where to start!
HoweverI am open to any advice you have,
Thanks so much, Debbie B
