emoticon glad you are joining us on this journey to a healthy lifestyle. I have had to learn to eat regular food and stay within my daily allotment. It's not easy, I did not know what empty or full was. I keep eating until it was gone, and ate whenever food was there. It works, when I learned potions and to stop before I was full.

Lord, bless my diet buddies and help me met my weight goals

Lost 110 pounds so far! i am loving it!
I am now exercising 50 mins a day working up to 60 ! Keeping active is so important!

General rule of thumb, when what you have been doing just isn't working, then you probably ought to try something different! What I have been currently doing just isn't working for getting the weight back off. I say back off, because I had lost 150 lbs after bariatric surgery. I still to this day am so thankful that I took that route as I am not certain that I would have been able to get to where I am even now. Over this last couple of years we made huge changes, moving from Oregon to Southern California, I finished my Masters in Nursing, got a new job, moved several times, even became a grandparent. As a nurse who moved to an entirely new venue, I ended up working night shift for a year; add on the first 30 lbs. Then managed to pack on 30 more with the last part of my schooling, parked in front of a computer and eating way too much!

I have tried a variety of options to get the weight back off and have added exercise as well. After reading about Sparkpeople in a magazine article, I decided to check it out. A couple of tips resonated with me; measuring my food to be sure that I am actually accurately counting calories, and earning points for various positive behaviors. Can't help myself, I still like the grade school star chart....it motivates me :)! My only fear with this program is the vulnerability I feel opening up on line about my life and struggles. I have decided though that it is worth it, to get back to a healthier, happier me.
