Welcome!!!
I think even if you go with lap band or weight watchers.. its a matter of dealing with why you gained in the first place and dealing with food.. the thing is i had bad knees too but i went on treadmill and kept at it and now my knees dont hurt.. so dont let anything get in your way.. YOU can do this!

Hi Dianna, it's Dianne!

I'm the cheerleader for Yoga over 50 and especially if you have knee and/or back problems. Start with a gentle/restorative class and then work your way up.
If you tell me where you live I might be able to help you find a class. Yoga will help you with breathing and with flexibility. You won't burn a whole lot of calories until you are ready for more strenuous forms but believe me, you can get there. I am no lightweight and I do headstands every day!

First of all, you may FEEL old, but you are not! Sounds like we need to get you feeling more energetic and spry, which will lead to happiness! You are in the right spot for lots of support from people who are going through the very same things you are. My biggest recommendation on this site is the nutrition tracker. Take advantage of it! It has really helped me out a lot. Best of luck to you on your journey to a healthier YOU!

Hi, I'm Dianna, I'm 60 plus and way over weight. I have worked in Special Ed. as a teaching assistant for 36 yrs. I have tried Weight Watchers for a yr. and lost a whole 10 lb. That was quite discouraging. I have been thinking about the new lap band surgery, but decided to try this first. Both of my knees are bad, I have lower back problems and all of this hinders exercising. I do walk quite a bit on my job and I walk with my husband of 46 yrs. I have been through heart rehab and did well with that program, all though, I didn't lose that much weight I did firm up. I do hope this program can work for me.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13 (Thanks Bobbie)
