I split my exercise sessions up. I start my morning by doing a body check on the Wii Fit. While I'm standing there I do about 20 minutes of light exercise. Then I have breakfast and check my e-mail, post on spark people and see what news is on the internet. About an hour after I eat breakfast I do some more exercise ... a Leslie Sansone DVD or some of the strength and yoga exercises on Wii Fit Plus. Sometimes I'll do the Wii Fit Free Run while I'm watching Oprah or Dr. Phil in the afternoon. With the Free Run you can switch off the game screen over to the TV and watch TV while you're running. You can hold the game controller or put it in your pocket while you're running. Every once in a while a voice from the controller I'm holding will tell me I'm keeping a nice pace or something similar. I'll switch back to the game screen during commercials to see how far I've run and how much longer I have to run. Between the three sessions I manage to chalk up 1 - 1.5 hours of exercise a day.

Having said all that, I'm really just getting back into the swing of things. I rarely exercised during the summer because I was always out and about enjoying the great outdoors. Now that the cold is here I'm getting back into my winter routine.

May you always have

Hi Jenzone - Welcome to the North Dakota team. I am a morning exerciser. I get to the "Y" by 7:30 am. If I don't do it in the morning I can find so many reasons not to go. My afternoons are always pretty busy. Plus I seem to feel so much better during the day once I've been there. You just have to do what works the best for you. Keep it up.

Another difference to think about....you HAVE to eat to survive, so you can't totally eliminate all tempations. Smoking is not needed for survival...

Oh, Kelli! You make me laugh. You seem to find humor in every situation and have such a way with words.

I'm not a morning person and can't imagine getting up early enough to be dressed and have traveled to the gym by 5:30A. But some people are at their best at that time of day. I'm glad your husband is having such success with the hypnotist and not smoking. Just remember ... you can see the results for him instantly because he isn't shoving a cigarette between his lips ... in your case it will take a little longer to see the results. Hopefully things are going better than your realize and the results are just around the corner.

Good luck, I tried the morning exercise thing, when to the gym at 5:30 in the morning... I was so tired by 1:00pm I needed a nap... ugh... good luck on the smoking thing, I quit over 14 yrs ago and don't regret it at all... My husband and I went to a hypnotist about 1 1/2 months ago him for smoking me for eating. He hasn't smoked since, I haven't done as well... emoticon

welcome and good luck to you in both journeys. I've never smoked but have seen many people working on quitting, so I know how hard it is. One day at a time and I'm sure you'll do it. I bet there is even a group for that on Sparks, check it out.

emoticon JENZON37 ... emoticon to Spark People and the Spark North Dakota team. It's nice to have you with us!

emoticon on the staying away from the cigarettes ... that's one tough habit to break. I hope you manage to keep from gaining weight. Even if you do gain a little in the beginning don't get discouraged. By making a concerted effort to take weight off right from the beginning you should be okay.

I recently stopped smoking and want to loose 50 lbs instead of gaining any. My husband and two girls are very supportive. My girls participate in every high school sporting activity available and those take up 2-3 nights a week so I work out at 5:30 am-in the living room - this is great for now - I'm worried about when the time changes. My best friend recommended this site to keep motivated and from what I've seen so far... GAME ON!!
