welcome Rainbow Girl! :-)
I loved your post title and HAD to see what it was all about. You have a great sense of humor and I think that will help you tremendously with your goals. Keep it light and don't get bogged down with the negative things. You already sound so positive - I hope you keep it up!

Hi Lumy! Welcome to the team!!

For exercise have your tried chair workouts with resistance bands, surprisingly chair workouts are really quite effective. SP does have a few chair workout videos and you can always find more on YouTube.

I am the opposite when it comes to eating, while I am not a vegetarian, I can go for days without eating meat...But I am a carb junkie, but biggest probably used to be Gobstoppers, not it is fruit loops and apple jacks, it's my way of tricking my body to think I am eating candy, hey it works lol

Trish360 was right on when she said buy a dessert plate and a cocktail fork. It really does work, it's all about tricking your mind that you are eating more than you really are. Also her comment about your meds, an unfortunate side effect of many meds is weight gain. I had lost over 120 pounds and my doctor put me on meds to "slow me down" and I gained 30 pounds in 3 months and the only thing that changed was I started taking meds. I continued to gain another 10 before I said enough and quite taking them...I don't recommend you stop taking your meds, mine where just to help me not be "on" 24/7...I haven't gained anymore weight but now I am struggling to lose the 40 that I gained back.

I am glad you joined us, I looking forward to hearing about how your journey is going.
Good luck and best wishes
Bobbie

Welcome!
I don't post much, but I do read!
I'm sure the meds you're on, do not help with weight loss.
First thing I would say to do, is to go to the Dollar Store, and buy a Dessert plate and a cocktail fork! This is a mental game, that helps make your mind think that it's getting a "full plate"! Weight loss is a mental game! If you're mind isn't in the right place, your body won't follow! You said that you like to swim. Get out there and do it! It's easier on your joints, and better than not doing anything at all! Once you get to a weight that your legs can handle, start strength training! This will build muscle and burn more calories even when you're not working out!
Good luck and Welcome!

These are all things that make me happy. My technical name is Amber, but my friends call me Lumy. I am 24 years old and I have a LOT of weight to lose. It's almost overwhelming to think about. Honestly I need to lose over half of my weight. I weigh 436 pounds. *exhales* There, it's out there. No hiding behind vague comments about being obese. No I am MORBIDLY OBESE and I want anyone considering friending/ messaging me to know that up front. I'm not going to pretend to be anything other than what I am. I may not be sure WHAT or WHO I am, but I'll always be HONEST about what I think. And I think I have a LOT of work to do. I'm not going to pull a "This is totally not my fault" : Insert sob story here, because I have friends who do it and it drives me insane. Part of this IS my fault. It's not HOW much I'm eating, but what I PREFER to eat that has helped get me here. And not exercising enough. At this point my health has made it very hard to walk normally. I have to use a cane, and my balance is off, and my blood pressure shoots up randomly (which sucks because I don't add salt to ANYTHING and I watch my sodium levels AND take my meds as prescribed)... So I'm going about researching things I can actually do to make a difference. I take responsibility in saying I could have worked harder and that I haven't made the best choices regarding eating at all times, but part of this is NOT my fault. I have hypo thyroidism. And they're currently looking into a few other things-doing medical tests. So It's a mixed bag, unfortunately. I'm not one of those people who drink soda all damn day, eat entire containers of ice cream or any of that nonsense that could easily be STOPPED and results would happen. I drink mostly water, sometimes milk or juice. I HATE BREADS, MOST SWEET THINGS, And if I do randomly have soda- it's sprite. And I can only tolerate a small sip because the carbonation is so dang bubbly. I LOVE raw veggies like broccoli, caluiflower, baby carrots, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and all that. Unfortunately my stomach and digestive system do not. :( So I have to limit my intake of such things. I don't care much for fruit because it's too sweet. I love berries though. My real conundrum is that I am a friggin carnivore. I LOVE MEAT. I don't deep fry ANYTHING or fry anything for that matter lol. I like baked chicken legs plain. Lean beef. Ground turkey. Pork. I am a meat eater. This is my weakness. And I know I have an emotional connection to eating- but not in the typical way. The typical example is someone who binges on things when emotional. My relationship is more about WHAT I eat. If I'm having a cruddy day and you give me some beef jerky I will soar into elation. Offer me a salad and I'll be mildly pleased (until later when I'm sick as a dog-happens every time without fail). But that strip of beef jerky-Totally makes my mood better. My mood is sometimes dependent on what food I can eat. Anyway I've rambled on enough I suppose. If you have made it this far in reading this I'm sorry it was so long and ranty. More randomness: I love anime, the french language-although I only speak a little, poetry, swimming, driving, make up, and back when I could find clothes to fit, I was pretty grungy-gothically inspired style wise. My hair has been every color of the rainbow. I have 4 cats, 2 dogs, and a snake. I had four lip piercings done at the same time. The video is on youtube under my username LumyRainstar. Has over 7k views. In the vid I don't even flinch. Watching it now I cringe. lol. Have a great night/ day everyone!
