Hi, When I first started Spark People in 2009 I focused on recording my food intake on the food tracker. I did not change my way of eating until I saw where I needed to improve.
Also, I recording my Fitness on the Fitness Tracker. Check out some of the free work out videos too. There are many that you can add on to your fitness tracker and it will give you an idea of calorie burn. You can also set up weight training on special days. It took awhile for me to figure out, but this really does help. The videos also shows you the proper form for weight training. Good luck with your goals and keep on Sparking.. I almost forgot to mention, Spark People have many monthly challenges and you can earn Spark Points. Lots of fun. One I remember is Jump into Spring. They are 30 day challenges and so much fun.

I've finally decided to post! My goal is to lose 40 lbs by the end of August! I'm 19. I'm also interested in bodybuilding but not the extreme type. Does anyone have any advice for me? I also need to lose 2% body fat by the end of the month to join the National Guard!
