Welcome CoolMom. Glad you are here. SparkPeople is a great place to find the support you need on your journey to a healthier lifestyle. I know hypothyroidism can make losing weight difficult, but by tracking your food intake and fitness it is not that much of a major hurdle. If you have just been diagnosed keep in touch with your endocrinologist to monitor your T4 levels while you lose weight.

Greetings from Coolmom83! I am most excited about joining sparkpeople and continuing my lifelong journey toward better health, improved fitness, and excellent quality of life. I love interacting with people, spending time with my family and friends, and also want to be able to do things that I used to take for granted, such as running 5 to 8 miles a day. I have been struggling with my weight for a while and now know that hypothyroidism is the root of all evil! (While I may joke about this condition sometimes, it is very serious and has serious side effects.) I am determined to take control of my health and fitness and get my life back! This site has already been a blessing to me as I restart on this quest for quality of life, and I am looking forward to this new journey as I move forward. I want to learn as much as I can about success in how to manage my health and weight with this condition, and in doing so, hopefully, I can pass on knowledge to others. I have already lost 4 lbs. just using the tracker. Now I have about 25 more to go! I want to keep it off this time, for good.
