Hi Laura, welcome to the team! I noticed you don't have a SparkPage, so I can't see what teams you've already joined, but I was wondering if you had considered joining the Managing Diabetes Team and the Chair Exercise Team? I joined the diabetes one, as my husband has Type 2 and I'm in the pre-diabetic range. I haven't joined the chair exercise team yet, but I love the chair exercise videos here on SparkPeople. Don't know if you've seen them, but they're in the Video section under the Healthy Lifestyle tab on the orange tabbed toolbar near the top of the page. They're fun and you can even get an aerobic workout in a chair! Something that I never would have believed possible if I hadn't done it myself! (There's probably a team for vegetarians, as well.)

If you get a chance, you may want to go ahead and set up a SparkPage of your own. It's a fun and motivational way to connect with others who share your interests and goals. We're glad to have you on the team!

I am a 57 year old with about 10-15 lbs, or more to lose, not a large weight loss but I have issues with sticking with things so I need support. I am also a diabetic of 51 years and some of my eating problems have to do with my low blood sugars but my doctor and I are dealing with this. I am also limited in what exercise I can do as I can't walk so I have a stationary bike and am working on doing at least something on it 4-5 days a week plus some arm work with 5 lb weights. I would love to meet anyone more local to me so maybe we can be friends and even at some point meet in person to share recipes etc. Did I mention that I am also a vegetarian so have much on my plate but I love Spark People so far and all the tools. Please answer if you meet my criteria but anyone in NC will be nice to meet. Keep on truckin, you can do it, with help!
