Saw that you are havingtrouble with the food tracker. Did you set up fo diabetic menus? Also, you do know that you don't have to use the SparkPeople menus. I track my own foods and there is a large database to go by.
If you need ay support, please let us know.

I don't understand why you can't use the food tracker. You don't have to use their meal plans. You can put in everything you eat, put things in groups, add recipes, whatever works for you. Perhaps you should try again. You can set the tracker options for the number of grams of carbs, protein and fat that you want for the day. I've found that the food tracker really helps me maintain the balance I need in order not to feel hungry and to curb cravings.

Hi and welcome! I think it's a great idea to have your bike in front of the TV! I've come to the conclusion that I need to either be watching TV or listening to music (if I'm walking outside) in order to enjoy the exercise.

I'm bad at snacking in the evenings also. The only things that have helped me are to go ahead and brush my teeth when I'm done with eating for the day. This helps because I'm too lazy to brush again before bed, therefore I don't eat anything else. I've also tried chewing gun, having a hot or cold drink (sugar-free), eating a healthier snack like baby carrots, spending time encouraging others on Spark, or playing computer games. Some people find it very helpful to journal privately (on Spark) or blog publicly (on Spark). Those are good ways to get in touch with your feelings and get them out, which can be very cathartic.

Also, when you get a chance, it would be helpful to you if you created a Spark Page of your own. That way, others can "friend" you, leave encouraging comments on your page, and send you a Spark Goodie now and then. It's a fun and motivational way to connect with others. Also, I don't know if you've joined, but there are teams for diabetics, emotional eaters, etc., both of which I'm a member of - my husband has Type 2.

Take care and keep in touch. Good luck in reaching all your goals.

Hi welcome, the eveings are hardest for me as well, I guess because that is when I finally slow down & relax for the day. I'm trying to track all my foods, it's keeping me accountable when I see what I'm putting in my mouth daily. Let us know if you need some help.

I am 57 years old and a 51 year diabetic. It's hard for me to use the food tracker as most of what we eat is made up meals so I am working on portion control and controlling my after meal snacking which I am bad at during the evening hours. Need encouragement and support to finally lose these 10-20 lbs I have regained after gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago but I can do it, making time to exercise is the hard part so I put my stationary bike in front of the television and peddle while I watch the news, time goes by quicker emoticon
