When I started I went for very small changes. Tracking my food mostly so I would know what I was eating. 10 minutes of exercise a few days a week. I found small changes make big differences!

Hi Steph,
the best advice I could give as a new member of sparks people is to first go the community tab on your Spark People Tool Bar at the top of the page, and scroll down to the "Getting started" tab and start working through that... it is a great introduction to the web site and you will find a ton of support and a way to set up your goals and create your own sparks page so that you can get further support.
Also, gone message boards with interests that you can relate to, choose active boards and participate.... post and track your food and exercise...
You can also get a lot of support to cheer you on at the Community (again) "Message Boards" where you can introduce yourself, be more specific about your plan, as you will be welcomed by a number of volunteers who run message boards, you will find links to their boards (usually) under the signature.
