Hello, Everyone! As a vegetarian, who rarely but occasionally eats meat, I was happy to find this team. I am launching (second day today) myself into a vegetarian keto program with very low carbs, high fats and moderate proteins.

Occasions when I'll eat meat: when I am a guest in someone's home and meat is served. When we go to barbecues (popular in summer) and when necessary like the other day when my daughter baked a tray of fudgy, chewy brownies and I was so hungry I could hardly resist them! As an emergency measure, I grabbed a grilled chicken thigh and drumstick. This became my dinner! It worked as far as separating myself from the chocolate.

I don't consider myself vegan because I do eat eggs and, very rarely, fish. Our neighbor raises chickens to work her garden for bugs, etc. They lay the most wonderful eggs and if no one eats them they just rot. The reason I'm vegetarian is because of the animals. I love and respect them, including chickens. Therefore, I was not eating eggs until my neighbor told me that her hens will lay anyway. She gives me wonderful eggs! They taste nothing like the ones in the grocery store taken from abused hens.

Thanks for adding me to the team. Please visit my page and friend me if you'd like to. BTW, I go by Dee.

Hi! I've been a SP member for many years and to make a long story short I'm trying to heal from diordered eating brought on by years of dieting, so I'm not counting calories but focusing on intuitive eating.

I have this dream of becoming a vegetarian one day but I live in Tunisia where we don't have a lot of options besides beans and lentils.. But meat here is way to expensive for us to eat daily, so I want to learn to cook better vegetarian meals and have some meat free days during the week.

My reasons are not only money though. Also from a religious and ethical perspective, I feel like we could eat a lot less meat.

So.. there's my short introduction.. Nice to meet you all! emoticon
