I think you've come to the right spot for new ideas.
It's amazing how much protein is available from non-meat/dairy sources,,207

Hi, I'm Martha from New Orleans. I've been on and off SparkPeople for several years, and I don't keep up with posting my food and statistics. Sorry. My primary motivation is good health. I follow an individualized version of the D'Adamo Genotype Diet. Since starting that about five years ago I've gluten- and dairy-free, and I eat mostly whole foods. So far I've lost about 75 pounds. and I think I would feel better if I could lose another 25-30. A primarily plant-based diet is recommended for me, but with my other sensitivities it was too much of a change. Now that I'm pretty used to how to handle that, I want to take the next step and start thinking about meal planning that doesn't start with meat as my protein. Living here provides an abundance of produce and seafood, but our traditional dishes aren't so well-suited to my digestion. I'm looking for supportive fellow travelers and some new ideas. Exercise, uh, I need more. I swim twice a week and I own an exercise bike. I work as a tour guide, which keeps me walking 12-15 hours a week, but I've also developed heel problems that won't improve if I don't stay off the streets, so finding appropriate exercise that I enjoy is a challenge.
