You sound like you know what you are doing and it will work for you.

Flexitarian is a great eating plan. I'm also looking into the idea of food combining for digestion to see if there is anything in that.

Anyhow a big welcome to our team you'll find we are a friendly bunch!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask i'm sure one of us may be able to help or offer some advice.

Well, I've read and read and tried 5 different diets and have decided to just do what I've been doing most of my life, but it never had a name. I am not a big meat eater. I eat mostly what I guess you would call ovo-lacto vegetarian, but I do love my fried chicken and seafood from time to time. I've gone MONTHS sometimes with no meat, because I just didn't want it. Most times, I eat meat about once a week, but not a huge 12-oz. steak or 2 lbs. of shrimp. I eat sensibly when I do have meat.

I actually have eaten like this since I was little, because we didn't have much money, so we couldn't always afford meat. I remember meat as being a treat, and most of the meat I got was in school lunches. In the summer, we ate out of the garden mostly, so if we had anything, it was chicken. At Christmas, my daddy always got a big ham from one of his contractors, and it was something we looked forward to all year. Turkey at Thanksgiving, of course, and usually fish once a week if my daddy went fishing.

Then when I was a single mom, I was on a tight budget, so I couldn't always afford much meat. My kids grew up healthy anyway, and like me, they got meat in school lunches.

It's just been my way of life for so long, I don't see any reason to change it. I'll count my calories, and I've been doing IF 16:8 for a while now and am comfortable with that, but basically, I'm a flexitarian and I love that.
