I'm back but with a new user name. Right now my goal is 47 lbs. Once I manage that I may try to get more off.

She has bad back, knees and arthritis. She is 72.

I am sorry to hear that about you husbands heart.

The Ornish diet can actually help clear congestion from arteries making the job of the heart a bit easier. Also any associated weight loss will help with the amount of work that the heart has to do as well.

Thank you but Bob's heart is past recovery. One side is completely dead and he only has 20% heart function in the other side

Hi Vicki,

You have been doing tremendously and consistently well.
every day you seem to be exercising.
You have an ideal background with liking fruit and veges for enjoying a Flexitarian diet. Like the Dash diet the Flexitarian diet allows for consumption of dairy, eggs, poultry, meat and fish at a frequency that suits the individual.
Welcome and cheers.
Some conversations are conducted under the "Chat" thread but there are many other threads to explore.

I'm Vicki, 59 years old, and over 100 lbs. too heavy.
I don't expect to ever get my weight back down to under
198 lbs., but for now I'm working to get down to 225 lbs.
I've struggled with trying to find a plan I can live with
long term and I feel low fat is my best course of action.
I'm not a huge meat eater and I do love veggies & fruits,
so it makes sense to me, to work with the foods I enjoy
the most. Time will tell if I'm on the right course.
I'm not very active due to back issues so I'm not
able to get in a lot of exercise other than walking, and
some days it's hard to do even that. But I keep trying.
