la la la sleeps with me close to my head, kirby joe starts out in bed with us then goes downstairs to "check on" and nap with our son then goes about checking on everyone. he sleeps on the chairs and the sofa during his "rounds". some mornings we find him asleep on the floor of the bathroom linen closet.

We can't have any of our four on our bed-several of them like to roam at night. We put them in crates for the night. On the weekends when we're actually able to try and sleep in, we let them out early, then they all jump into bed with us. They each have their spots, Bailey makes sure he's between us, Shayla lays by my side towards the edge of the bed, Kaylee snuggles up with DH and Tuffy curls up at the end of the bed. Right now we have a foster dog who like to curl up on the other side of me, however she can fit in!

Holy Schmolly! With all those pups sleeping on the bed I sure hope you have a DOUBLE CALIFORNIA KING!! (if there was such a thing -- LOL!) I don't think Buddy even knows what sleeping on the floor means! If he's not on the couch, or the recliner, he is definitely on the bed! LOL Funny guy!

What part of the country are you in? Since you are posting the same time I am I would think you must be in the west somewhere. It's 11:00 now... and most of the team is already in bed by now.

Lucy usually starts out between my husband and I, but Maggie sneaks up and takes the spot whenever she can. Lucy can be quite cranky to the others when she is sleepy. Our Miniature Australian Shephers Annie Oakley sleeps at the foot of the bed and Zelda always sleeps on the floor. Sometimes I want to move out to the couch. I'll be glad when summer comes and I can throw them all on the floor! (But Lucy always getsa spot on the bed.--Don't tell the others!)

That's cute. Our Buddy sleeps with us too, always at the foot of the bed unless I get up in the middle of the night... then he moves up and takes my pillow! LOL

My Westies, Lucy & Maggie, are the best dogs I've ever had and are the best dogs ever. They sleep in our bed every night and love to go wherever I go. Wish I had a job where I could take them. They are so typical of Westies--always loving our attention but love their mom & dad.

not that i know of. kirby joe came from a breeder in livingston, alabama. la la la's mother is pinky and her dad is frisco and she came from a breeder in pelham, alabama. so as far as i know they are alabamians. but abigail is kinda unusual for a dogs name isn't it.
i'm glad your abigail found a good home too.

Years ago when I was considering adopting a rescue. I met several times with the foster mother who said she just couldn't keep the girl because her husband said no more dogs. Well, guess what happened at the last minute? Her husband decided to keep that Westie. I still remember her name: Abigail.

Funny funny

ROFL - Becky, we do too - if I 'roar' at Pebbles, she grrrrs and wuffs back and runs faster, till eventually she falls over from exhaustion and I fall over from laughing! It must be a terrier thing - I think they've gotta burn off that last little bit of energy or they'll pop! emoticon

MO that is so funny! That is EXACTLY what Buddy does. We usually join in the fun by going "WooHoo Buddy WooHoo!" He just rips up down and around. My Vet Assistant has Rat Terriers and she said they do the same thing! It sounds to me that it's a "Terrier Thing!"

LOL

emoticon It seems all our Westies have their 'mad moments' every day then! Pebbles usually has hers around 8 in the evening - she treats the house like a race track and if the doggie door is open she dives through it like a stunt-dog and tears around the back yard - it's the funniest thing to watch! Lasts about 5 minutes and then she flops down and falls asleep where she drops!

Westiegal, my hubby is the same ... he always used to say he's 'not a dog person' when we had big dogs. Now we have this little madam and he's totally besotted! He spoils her ROTTEN and she has him so firmly tied up in a tartan bow, it's hilarious! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Our most recent adopted little westie, Kaylee, has my husband wrapped around her paw too. She just goes up to him if he's sitting down, bypasses the doggie steps that we have, gives him a pick me up look and then stands on her back legs and lifts her front legs towards him and he just melts! If our male tries it, dh makes him go up the steps!!!!

Everybody on this team has such a great sense of humor. Hmmm, any correlation to the fact that we own Westies? Excuse me, are owned BY Westies.

Welcome Mojo!
Lets see... Well Wally is kind of a crazy/lazy guy. He loves to be my lap dog (although he doesn't fit real well) He also gets these burst of energy and has the need to just go like the wind. Usually when a jet flys over or a loud truck or motorcycle drives past. The city has now added a new bus stop. Guess where, uuug.. right on the other side of my back fence. Wally has been a little more active the past couple days. He sure looks like he enjoys it though. I wish i felt that good when i'm running like the wind. heck! I wish i COULD run like the wind..lol

Welcome Mo!

Buddy is 2 1/2 and is pretty mellow most of the time, except once a day in the evenings he races through the house from one end to the other several times like it's a race track. But most of the time he's pretty laid back. He loves his walks, and anytime we go anywhere he's right there wide awake and rarin' to go! Never gets left behind.

Fosse, you are so funny! And you're right: you'll be out walking her in no time!

Both of my Westies would run like mad in circles when they were younger. Louis went to be with Grandpa several years back, but he used to tear up a path around Mom's yard when I took him over there. Poor little Jolie is starting to feel her years but she still occasionally goes on a race of her own around my home.

welcome mojo. i have two westies, kirby joe & la la la and they are as different as night and day. kirby joe will be 6 friday and la la la is just 3 months younger but she has a lot of energy and likes to run. kirby joe likes to lazy around all the time. he is my guard dog though and his ferocious bark has frightened a lot of people. which is a good thing because i live out in the country at a farm. they like to chase each other a lot too.

Welcome Mojo! I think it depends on the westie. We have four. Our youngest is very hyper and would play and run all day if she could. Our oldest is more mellow although if he spys a squirrel outside he'll be out there all day trying to catch it. We have a newer little girl, we adopted her in October. She's more laid back, but she's a puppy mill breeder release so she's still coming out of her shell. Our next girl is three and is a cross between the others. She loves to run also, but craves more human attention. They're all different and unique and we love each and every one of them!

Hi MOJO and welcome….I don’t know about all Westies but my 4 month old sure can run circles around me. In fact today on her fourth walk I told her “You just wait, as I get healthier and you get older I’m going to run you paws into the ground”, one can hope anyways lol.
