Hi Scarlett! Glad to get to know you, and thank you for sharing your story with us. It is so heart breaking to lose a pet.

I agree 100% with you on the micro-chip. Buddy had one put in as soon as he was old enough. That has been a great new technology for dogs and cats. We used to tattoo them, and still do, but the chips work great!

We are so glad to have you join our group. You don't have to have a Westie to love them. Maybe one day one will come along for you to rescue. It seems to me that you have a loving heart and a dog would be safe with you caring for it.

Check out some of the new "stickys" and jump in on any of them. There's the Morning Wake-up Call, Daily Inspirations, monthly goals, and a place for you to add your suggestions & comments. We want to hear from you!

I saw your lovely Spark Page and you live in a beautiful part of the countryside. I love the UK. Never been there, but would love to visit one day.

Sparking you Hugs! And a Big Welcome!!
Becky

Hello! I didn't know about this page and I am a Team Leader of my own Team,(for a week)(Americans Living in the UK).
So Now ,Hi! I don't have a Westie, don't have any dog now ,since Pippa died and before her my Hamish was stolen from my back yard,(fenced and locked).I don't think I can do any of that again.Neither of them were Westies,Pippa was only with me for about 7 months, adopted at the end of her life,a terrier-cross.
My Hamish was the love of my life,I rescued him ,after he was found tied to a fence on the motor-way,with 2 other dogs who didn't survive. He had been used as bait in dog-fighting.I had help from a kind Vet and got him right back to into fittness. That little boy loved me so much he followed me everywhere.5 years later he was stolen, and I tried so hard to find him.
He must have been a target, because I live way out in the countryside, someone must have followed us home to steal him.So cute, folks called him a "teddybear".
I wish I had him micro-chipped!
My message is micro-chip your puppies!
Why am I telling you all this,I don't know. Maybe I need to share it.Maybe it will help someone, someday.
Anyway,I am here, today to lose weight and not to cry.Hamish would be so happy to go for a walk across that beautiful vista.
Tell me stories about about your lovely dogs,so I can enjoy from afar.
Scarlett

Hi there! I am new to Sparkpeople and so glad to find a Westie Team. I have a three year old westie male, his name is Riley, wooters, rileywooters, wootermans whatever comes out!

He is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever had,

Not sure how to post pictures here but if you look on my flickr site there are some photos of him.

Can't wait to explore more of this team and try some of the challenges!
