I'm so glad you stopped back to see us :)
We are glad to have you!!!!
Every day I wake up and have to tell myself, "OK, I'm starting over"
yep every single day I make mistakes, guess what....I'm human. Mistakes are a part of life. We all know things we want to improve on and every day we have to decide what we are going to work on. Today I'm working on staying away from snack foods again. Today I'm working on doing one of my exercise videos again. I've been slacking lately but that's ok, because lately is is what counts.
Just make every today count at least for something.
As everyone else said, we are here for you and each other. I get a lot of motivation from reading others blogs. You find what motivates you and seek it out. Don't stay on the wayside hoping that motivation finds you.

I am in control of who I am and who I will become.

Darbygirl, you have received some great information. I just wanted to share this with you:

Every day is a chance to build momentum or to slack. Every day, you have to decide to make the right choices. Keeping your goals and motivators close by helps you make that decision and feel good about it. Remember, this is a positive experience! You're doing something good for yourself, your loved ones and your future. Don't waste any opportunity to remind yourself of that fact and congratulate yourself on progress.

This is a great team and we will motivate you along the way. I would suggest you sign up for the May Buddy Support Groups (BSG) having a small team will be helpful for advice and friendship along the way.

Great Advice Jeff!

A couple of things that helped me Baby Girl.
1. Drink water before you put something in your mouth and ask will this hurt me or help me towards my goal.
2. When you wake up in the morning have a positive attitude and tell yourself today you will get your goals done, then do it. Nothing better than going to sleep knowing you did what you wanted to do.
3. Set small manageable goals. Too many people shoot for the moon and you can't get there in 1 day. Spark can help you with this.
4. Find a support system. I like spark because no one really knows me and it is a safe place to test you ideas, whine, and motivate others. You will find your niche.

I am a great butt kicker so if you are making excuses and need someone to get you out the door, let me know.

Jeff is totally right about the mental game. Hope this gives you some more things to think about. We are here for you! emoticon

Hi Darby Girl,

After being with Sparkpeople for 3 months now I can honestly say that everyone here wants to see you succeed! Use the tools, post often, explore the teams and find a couple that really "Sparks" your interest, maybe this one. It will help keep you motivated and you will make some really nice friends that share your common goal to get healthy.

Amazingly, (at least for me) losing weight, eating right, getting the exercise is more of a mental game than a physical. You need the right mindset. You can't tell yourself "Oh no, today's my exercise day, oh well guess I better try". That might work for a little while but eventually it probably won't get you motivated enough. Better to tell yourself "Today is my exercise day, and I am excited about it because it brings me one step closer to my
"fill in the blank" ...Tell yourself that even if you don't believe it at first.

Your reasons for losing weight or getting healthy needs to implanted into your mind daily. Hang then on the fridge door if you have to.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough and I sincerely hope you get back in the saddle again.

I guess like many of you the new year hit & we're making promises to our self to be healthy. So far that's been easier said than done. I've been loggin in some what faithfully but keeping within my calories & gettin in excercise has been challenge. Hoping some of you faithful folks that have gotten into the swing of things have some tips, advise & encouragement for me. I know that I need to motivate myself but may need a kick in the pants to get moving. Happy to see many of you are being sucessful in your goals & I hope one day to be following in your footsteps. emoticon
