I tolerate Metformin ER (extended release) much better.

I am on the diabetic food tracker for SP but find that it is way too many carbs for me. I use a LoseIt App and just downloaded another carb tracker from Coheso for my kindle fire. The most recent app allows me to set my own carb goals.

I'm going to be honest, I am finding Spark People very frustrating to use.

I have been here for awhile, and am just now discovering there is more than one diabetes group....and today I got an email about a new diabetic menu planner, and for the life of me after 20 minutes of clicking around I can not find the menu planners?

I'm low on patience.

Anywho....any help would be appreciated!

I started with the diagnosis last September with a fasting rate of 138 and an A1c of 7.0. 4 months later I was down to 112 30-day average on my morning blood sugar and the Aic was down to 6.5. I go back at the end of this week for my next we'll see.

I'm slightly afraid I lost ground this time. Valentine's Day really did a number on me. Thanksgiving and Christmas I did alright, but V-Day sent me into a depression spiral and face first into more chocolate than is healthy.

Learning as I go, gleening info from places like this....quickly discovered my diabetic education at the local hospital and my doctor couldn't agree on a single thing....gave up the educator and found an independent nutritionist.....doing much better now!

Currently on 1500 mg Metformin a day...on a low-salt / low phosphorous diet due to kidney my diet tends to run against the grain of most diabetic educators. Have to be super careful, not take the metformin on an empty tummy ---- or as I'm sure most of you know already....I'll be dashing for the ladies room for hours.....sometimes days.
