Awesome for all of you!
I was diagnosed with type 2 3 years ago. My A1C was at 479 don't know what that would be on the scale right now. I got numbers down to 5.9 with diet and powerwalking with incline. I am not on meds and I do not want to get on meds. I have lost 100 LBS. All has been well until the last 1.5 months when I wore out my old treadmill and threw out my back while supplementing aerobics til I found a new one. (I am not a graceful person) I am trying to re-motivate myself to get to eating right over the holidays now that I have my new treadmill. So I am here to RE-Introduce myself to Sparkpeople. Hope to be on here more often.

Welcome to the team Mark,

My mom after 25 years also has similor control (past 5 years and is now not called a diabetic), no meds nothing but all she ever did to control her's was though diet and it worked for her 100%.

Worked for me as well till I went into sugical menopause which tipped the scales in the wrong direction .. been trying get back on track for the past year (not there yet).

so luck on keep it as you are and congrats!

My name is Mark, my forum name is for another team so mark will be just fine.

I am 47 and killed the diabetes in me.

If you scroll over my avatar you can see the difference I've made from three years ago.

I currently take NO medicine for my diabetes since last Jabuary. My latest hA1c was 5.8% it was nearly 11% three years ago.

I lift five times a week and do HIIT for my cardio of choice four times a week.
