I also have PTSD but mine is probably from abdominal surgeries. I don't have much nausea now except during flares and I use sierra mist or juice to help it. Water alone can sometimes cause more nausea. I am glad that you are researching. there is so little known about the disease by most doctors that we have to keep researching ourselves. My case is considered mild. Best wishes on the new medications.

I actually just got my diagnosis yesterday but I have had GI issues for 3 to 4 years now. I've been doing basically nothing but research online since I left the doctors office yesterday. I found some very interesting medical journal articles that links gastroparesis with trauma. I also have PTSD. I have stopped the acid reducers I was on and have started some metoclopraminde but I know that drug has some serious risks and a black box warning and should only be used for a maximum of 8 weeks. I just started the new meds today and I have been feeling a bit better already. I have been going easy on my stomach too with foods. I don't have it really severe I don't think. I can still eat much of the time. I just have had lots of nausea and pain. Hopefully the new dietary adjustments will help calm the symptoms.

I am afraid that we are not very active but there are some great resources listed from other leaders. A great place for support is through G Pact on Facebook. You may find some great people in your area who are dealing with your same issues. GP is so individualized that often what one person can digest the next person cannot. I do best on level 2 foods. How long have you had GP? I hope that you will join us and help make the team more active and informative.
