Welcome to the team CINSTRES7889;
I think it would be a good idea to ask your doctor abut a gastric emptying test, and if you are not already seeing a gastroenterologist, I would ask about being referred to one.

emoticon to the team. I hope that you are able to have the test soon to see if you have GP. There are so many variables to the disease. There are some great articles here that I hope you read. Please join us on the chat thread and let us know if we can help you find resources.

Hi, I haven't been diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I have GP. I try to eat a clean diet of organic fruit/veggies grass fed meats, etc but every few days I have horrible reflux and can just feel my entire days food sitting in my stomach. I have had gastroscopy that confirmed a hiatal hernia that stops my esophageal sphincter from closing, but I haven't had the stomach emptying test yet. Some days I finish eating as early as 5pm and at 1-2 am in the morning I wake up choking on my dinner. It's exhausting and frustrating. I'm excited to find this page so I can try to help myself avoid flare ups!

Welcome to the team, Robbyn. My apologies for not responding sooner (I've had a very rough few months, and it continues...). Our team doesn't have many active members, BUT there are a few of us who are around to talk. Some of us can also answer questions, or help guide you should you need information. There are dozens, maybe hundreds, of different causes for GP, and while some of us know or figure out the cause over time and possibly help us manage the symptoms, not everyone finds out what caused it. The more important thing is learning how to manage it, live with it, and be as healthy as possible with it.

Again, welcome to the team. Glad you found us. It sucks to have GP, but it helps to find support from others.

Welcome to the team!

I usually check in here once per day, even if I don't post every day.
Like NPA4LOSS mentioned, most of our action here seems to be in the Chat thread.

It can be a challenge trying to lose weight with GP; so many of the foods they recommend for weight loss, like those full of fiber, whole grains, and raw stuff are "no nos" for us with GP.

Hi everyone. I dont know how active this group is, but I'm going to try anyway.

I'm a 29 yr old, mommy to 3 girls, wife to an amazing man, who has gastroparesis. No other medical conditions, they dont know why I have it, but I do. Just got out of another stay in the hospital, trying to work back into foods, and on a new med called cisapride.

I'm looking for anyone who wants to chat, and try to keep each other motivated. I have about 25 pounds that I want to lose, in a healthy way, so I need to get some more fitness into my routine. So, please add me as a friend, send me messages, I will respond as I can. It would be nice to talk to some other people with this disease as well...

** Robbyn**

Wife to a wonderful man. Mommy to three perfect little girls, Hailey (born Aug 2008), Chloe (born Sept 2009) and Alyssa (born November 2012). Needing to lose weight not only for me, but for them as well.
