Did the Brazil Butt Lift after work yesterday. Leandro kicked my butt but I feel great. I think I may have bruised my back with all the pats I gave myself when I was finished. We'll see if I can do it again today. I know I can but will I?

I can do this. I only workout after work. I have 30 more lbs to lose.

Being in the same weight neighborhood as you are, I understand completely! I would suggest taking small steps to get started. Does your lunch hour permit you to take a 10 minute walk? It will not only get you some exercise but it can clear your head and get you ready for the afternoon.

I will speak words that will flip people out on this list: I hate to exercise, I see no point in it. However, if my exercise has a reason (clear my head after a difficult assignment at work, take grave marker photos for genealogists, walk the dog) then I am much more inclined to do it. Walking the dog can be a big motivator. Don't have a dog? I have a stroller for my cat Sheba and I take her out when the weather is nice to give her some fresh air. A walk around the block will do and you can increase that as the days get longer. I live right in downtown in the city, so walking at dark is not appealing to me at all.

You can do this. My highest weight was 289 pounds. I was 270 when I started on Spark People. There is no magic pill, no secret diet, no exercise machine that can do this for us. We need to eat healthy, eat less and move more. Sounds deceptively simple, doesn't it? But we are smart and determined people. We can do this!!

It really is so hard to get motivated to work out. I find I can come up with a million and one excuses on other things I can do. I was on the phone with a friend of my who is and avid runner and I was giving her my laundry list of other things I HAD to get done and she told me "stop screwing around and just go do it, you'll be so happy you did". You know what? She was right. Not to say I still don't have a million and one excuses all the time but when I start the procrastination I am reminded of what she said. We can do anything we set our minds to. Habits are hard to change but I know everyone of us can do what ever we set our minds to. With that being said I am not going to have any excuses today after work. Have a great day all!!!

Hi Baberubs. Do you take lunch time at work? A lot of the times what I do, esp because working out after work is very often challenging, is get in a good 30- 60 min walk during lunch. Then I will eat lunch at my desk. Walking is not the hardcore cardio I would like to do but it is better than nothing esp if I know I might not get to the gym that night.

Hello, have you thought about using exercise videos? I was out shopping over the weekend and brought the 90-day challenge kit, which came with 10 DVD's. It only cost me $10.00. It is a start. If nothing else, maybe you can glance through the videos that are on the spark pages. I do them sometimes as well. Good luck to both of us! emoticon

Get a DVD that you like and do it! I started by going to a Barre Class that was offered on a Groupon. It was at the gym across the street from work. I LOVED the class because it was really hard, but you could tell a difference in your body in a short amount of time. Well, before I knew it the month was over and if you wanted to keep going you had to pay full price of $280.00 a MONTH! Well that wasn't going to happen, so I bought a Bar Method DVD (I was never one to do DVD's at home) and I kept doing it on my own. The difference you see is enough motivation!

Then I went to the gym one day and the gym owner had lost a TON of weight and I asked her what she did, she started the C25K program, so I started that. I now try to run/jog/walk 4-5 days a week and I feel so guilty if I don't do it that it's enough motivation for me. You just need to find what does it for you. Exercise should not be a punishment, you should want to do it!

I suggest the DVD mostly because you can do it in the dark, in the heat in the rain in your own house. I prefer to run outside, but once the Texas heat starts I will be moving inside to the gym.

I just joined this team and I have a problem...I work a bit far from where I live and I tend to get home when night approaches. I always start walking as a form of exercise but then I do it for a few days and I get discouraged and I stop. I need a lot of help and support. I am 220lb and i need to loose a lot of weight. Please advise. I cant join the gym because they are closed before I get home. I really need a lot of motivation.
