I can only tell you my experience in this. Coming from a CARB-O-HOLIC and there is no exaggeration there, once I started cutting out the white flours and white sugars and refined carbs, and started getting a balanced diet of protein, veggies and fruit, I did not crave them any longer. It took about two weeks. Here is what I did-

Within an hour of waking up: eat breakfast!!!! Have a protein for breakfast. You can add a whole grain carb if you want, but make it a carb that has about 100-130 calories. Has to be whole grain or wheat!! Grain is best.

Within 2 to 2 1/2 hours from breakfast: Eat a small snack. Protein snack of some sort. I have found a protein bar that Wal-Mart sells that I LOVE...21 g of protein. It's by Life Choice. I make sure I get the bar that has the 21 g. of protein.

Eat lunch about 3 hours after the snack

Have another healthy snack 2 hours after lunch. Palmful of Almonds, veggies or fruit, cheese stick with an apple or some whole grain crackers.

Dinner: Make Dinner your lightest meal of the day. I always eat before 6:30 p.m. and I make sure that I do not take in any carbs after 6. Some people say you can stretch that until 7, but I stay safe.

Drink your water. The snacks in between keep your metabolism running and going. Carbs only spike your blood sugar and make you crave more carbs, sweets and such. I only take in about 70-90 g. of carbs a day. I take in about 65-74 grams of protein a day. I usually get my carbs from veggies or fruits instead of pastas now. If I eat pasta, it is whole grain, and it is the serving size it's supposed to be, not a whole plate or bowl that we have become used too. It's all about the serving size, the calories in and the calories burned. I hope this helps some.

Thank you for the encouraging words and my new mantra....I have to do this for ME!
I have been working out in the morning as it gives me a burst of energy to start the day.
I am 52, need to loose at least 50 pounds. I am more focused as I have 2 kids, one teen and one 11y/o who keep me hopping...I need to keep up with them and keep healthy.
Hopefully any little bit of exercise in the evening will help me cut the CARB CRAVE I get most nights. Anyone have any suggestions?

You can do this, and you need to do it for you! That is the most important thing in any addiction we try to break in our lives. Here is my suggestion for you. If you drink any sweet teas, diet drinks or other drinks besides water, start cutting them back. Get that water in each day. (64-80 ounces a day) Cut your processed carbs back. (White flour/white sugar products) Use whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies. Get about 60-75 grams of good lean protein in each day. No carbs of any kind after 6 p.m. Try to stay away from processed foods as much as you can. Get at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. Just start moving. I promise, if you make those changes, you will not only see a drop in weight, your metabolism with change, and you will start feeling so much better. Good luck on your journey to the new and healthy you!!!

Things arent gonna change unless I change them!

I need to lose 30 lbs for ME! I've gained since I started using Effexor for hot flashes (it really worked) but now i'm done with that. Doc says it's ok to stop since flashing has stopped. BUT, i've gained about 25 lbs and I dont like it. I need yall to help keep me motivated.

I'm 47 and in generally good health. I take no other meds on a daily basis. We have a free gym here at work and i've got to start somewhere. I want this for ME!

LET'S DO THIS!
