I'm brand new to sparkpeople and a little overwhelmed. :) I did want to go ahead and introduce myself as I'm stumbling around the site trying to figure things out. I joined this site because I'm hoping to use this summer as a start to a new lifestyle. In the fall I will be leaving my parent's home for the first time and going off to a university. I need to know how to take care of myself at that university and I hope this site will help with that. I'm about 50 pounds overweight and I just got blood work back from my doctor that has been a bit of a wake up call. I have incredibly low vitamin D, incredibly low good cholesterol, and an incredibly low carbon-monoxide respiration rate; whatever that means. Basically I'm pretty unhealthy. I'm only 22 years old and I'd like to live a long and healthy life.

I apologize if this is too long on in some weird format or something. I'm new here and a little nervous. I don't want to fail! But the site said introduce yourself so here I am! Thanks for reading!
