They don't deal with PTSD specifically, but 2 books recommended by therapists which I found helpful were Mindsight by Daniel J Siegel, MD, and Growing Up Again by Jean Illsley Clarke and Connie Dawson.

"I love myself the way I am, and still I want to grow;
But change outside can only come when deep inside I know:
I'm beautiful and capable of being the best me I can,
And I love myself just the way I am."

What books do you all feel has best info on PTSD ? I've seen some by a Peter ... (can't think of his name) and by Michelle Rosenthal.

She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.

How true! emoticon I worked with two fabulous therapists at different points in my life, dealing with my PTSD. I don't get triggered very often these days, and I have some great tools to use. It's emoticon that you are working on your healing and making progress. That takes courage and commitment. emoticon emoticon

I lived with undiagnosed PTSD for over 20 years. Started treatment 6 months ago. Just last Friday I had an " ah ha" moment - I finally understood, really truly, what my therapist has been saying about the trauma response. I recognized it in my thought pattern about my knee, which was really flaring up at the time. It was a revolutionary moment. Like, as I was crossing the street, I recognized in an instant how so many aspects of my life have been yoked to the trauma response. So, now I can truly begin to heal.
