Hi, I'm Renia and have been a member of SP since 2007, on and off. I shall be 55 in March, the day after an op, so will be spending my birthday in hospital. Here to lose the weight once and for all, before my husband and I go travelling seriously from next year, so that I can be physically fit and able to do everything I want to, all over the world.

Hello everyone

I joined Sparkpeople about two and a half years ago, and thought it was about time I started to participate!

I'm Janet, 68, originally from Bromley but now living in Lincolnshire with my husband, son and three dogs.

I try and lift dumbbells three times a week and do a Pilates DVD three times a week. I try and fit in some sort of cardio most days - I go to a Zumba class once a week and have loads of fitness DVDs, and of course having three dogs gives me lots of walking exercise.

Hoping to get to know you all and get lots of inspiration!

Hi folks! I'm an American (waves flag) who simply has a lot of friends in the UK. (No,not University of Kentucky). I suppose you could call me an Anglophile, but I really prefer to not be categorized. My primary passions are photography and space exploration.
So Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and all that. The weather outside is frightful, but that's because there's NO snow where I live and that's very bizarre.
Wells, here's to a healthier us and a happier year ahead...

Why yes, as a matter of fact I do blog:

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student from America getting my MSc in Leeds. I'm definitely a yo-yoer and have been my entire life. I lost 100 lbs about 3 years ago (was done by over restricting and over exercising) and have gained some of it back this year. I don't weigh myself as I also have disordered eating habits and the scale is a major trigger for me. I'm back on spark for the 5th time or so trying to get support while I lose the weight the healthy way so I can reach maintenance again. I'm also here to keep me in check when my disordered habits get out of hand. I'm currently dealing with cycles of binging that I'm trying to break and I think I have the goals in place to finally do that!

I joined SparkPeople in October 2009, I come and go depending on how hectic my life is.

My username reflected my feelings in 2009 and I losing weight is not my goal anymore, in fact I've put on a few more pounds since then and still have a BMI of 21.3 and Fat %age of 24%. I'm considering changing my username.

My goal now is to be healthy and happy.

I use SparkPeople to find good workouts, log my fitness, educate myself on my fitness and health.

I turned 50 this year and promised myself I would do something for myself for the first time, and I've started a beginners marathon programme. I have no children and very recently lost two cats - who I miss.

I live in a village in Leicestershire.

Would be delighted to have more Sparkfriends emoticon

emoticon I'm Gill, and I'll be 61 this year. I have one grown-up son (and sweet daughter-in-law) and am single. I have no pets myself, but there are three cats, three dogs, and a couple of ferrets who live in out 10-cottage terrace.

I'm 5'3" and about 8stone 10lbs at the moment - so I'm well within the 'healthy' range - but I'd like to get that down to below 8stone 7lbs.

I am a rookie runner - going out to run/walk/jog three times a week, I walk a lot too. I read, do sudoku and kriss kross puzzles, a bit of yoga, occasional swim. I work full-time which uses up most of my brain! I Spark a lot! I do a bit of volunteering with our local Guildhall (town hall amenity) helping to run the bar, redecorate etc. I sometimes play the recorder with a Cornish band for parades and special days. I don't have any really absorbing hobbies - I tend to have a lot of things on my 'to do' list just keeping up with everyday life!

Hello All
I am Trev and I live in North Kent I am 71 OOOO Getting on for 72 emoticon

I lave lost 50lbs (23 kilos or just over 3 stone) and have been at my goal for 31 months now.

My motto is "If you have not tried and failed you can't know that you can't do it" and nowhere else it that more true than in trying to loose weight.

Would it be a good idea to re-introduce ourselves for the sake of any newcomers?

I'm 51, from Devon, married, no pets or children, my main exercise is walking,

I am 5'6", have lost about 50 pounds, and still have about 50 pounds to lose to get to an interim goal which puts me just inside the healthy BMI range.

Hobbies - reading, writing letters, music, films, watching The Great British Bake Off, cooking, gardening, walking, GB holidays.
