Hello!

I've just read your post and I'm replying because I'm in the same boat as you....new to all this!!
My name's Jane and I've decided that I need to shake things up if I'm ever going to get into my stride with losing weight and getting healthy. I'm definitely a team player but when it comes to dieting it's something I've always done on my own. But as this year hasn't seen me get off to a very good start, I've decided that I should re-think how I'm doing things.
So my thinking is, I need to throw myself into the Spark community!!
Hope we can spur each other on to reach our goals!
Jane

You can do it! Pretty new to Sparkpeople myself but so far it feels great. The blogging is such a good idea and has motivated me back onto the band wagon today. I have 30lbs to lose to get to my "ideal" weight according to BMI and 15lbs to lose to get to "healthy".

I am feeling confident. Lets do this together! emoticon

emoticon it should just be a matter of tracking what you eat and regular exercise emoticon

Take the Spark gently it is about lifestyle change and not diet , with it's negative perceptions.

Hi Everyone

I have been a member for sometime, but thought i could do this on my own.
I made a decision to loose weight about three years ago, joined a gym, dropped two dress sizes felt really good. i maintained the weight loss through exercise but never changed my eating habits...then i had a nasty fall.
I eased off the exercise because this, eventually giving up all together and put all the weight back on again plus a bit more. i now have 50lbs to loose.

This time i want to do it properly with both excerise and deit so any tips, help would be appreciated.

I now know i need all the help i can get.

You are where I was in July 2012 needing to lose about the 50 lbs mark. Well it is doable but there are ups and downs along the way but don't give up just keep going.

Remember that there is help here 24 / 7 (there is all way someone about to help)

Good luck to you

Welcome to the team! I know you'll get lots of support here to help you reach your goals.
4 stone may feel like a lot at this stage but just take it 1lb at a time and you'll get there!

Hello fellow UK peeps

I'm new to this site and am just finding my way around the place so if I make any standard newbie errors apologies.

So a bit about me - well I'm a bit embarrassed really. I am having a hard time dealing with the amount of weight I have put on in the past few years and the negative changes in my lifestyle. Currently, I need to lose at least 4 stone :(.

I use to be very active and fit. I was an athlete, dancer and yoga enthusiast until around 5 years ago and I've always been very tall and very thin (did some modelling in my youth). I also use to be vegetarian.

It's like I've blinked and suddenly my whole body and lifestyle changed. I almost don't know what to do with myself now as I've never been like this before. Not even sure how to get started! I know this has not happened overnight but...well it feels like it lol.

So anyway I'm hoping that a healthy lifestyle community might be just the thing.

Cheers
