I'm not new to SP or to the BBQ team, but I've been gone for a minute.

I am new, however, to Durham, North Carolina.

Since I got here its been about 2,000 degrees every day - or shooting lightening bolts from the sky (I don't remember NC being this hot or stormy when I lived here before - but that was 20 years ago when the earth had an ozone layer ...) so I haven't been doing much outside of my air conditioned fitness room or apartment. The temperature is much more bearable today so I'm going to take a little jog outside (but just around the complex; I haven't quite gotten my mind back around the "no sidewalk" thing yet. I'm workin' on it though!

I only know my way around SR 54 between TW Alexander and Southpoint mall (I do know a little bit about SR 70, but only to where that BIG thrift store is just past TW Alexander - they had a Viking fridge up in that piece!!!), but my car and phone have GPS. If it has an address, I can get there!

Anywho, I wrote all that to ask If there are any active Queens in the Durham area interested in a working out (walking/running) buddy,. If so, hit me up. I don't know n-t-BODY!

Hi, I'm Trish and this is my intro:
Glad to be back on spark for the second time around and glad to meet all of you. I see you
have a lot of fun here. I joined the 8 glasses of water challenge.

In 2007, with the help of spark and a "light" version of the atkins diet, I lost 25 pounds and kept it off until I joined the nifty 50 club last year. All the pounds came back and
brought 10 friends! I currently weigh 185.

My first goal is to get down to 160 by November (my bday). My ultimate goal is my ideal weight of 140 by March.

I've recently learned some very interesting lessons about diet, weight gain/loss, and exercise after 50: Its twice as hard to manage!!! Everything I eat really, really matters. My energy levels and metabolism hovers near zero if I don't stay active. But most importantly I learned, if I want to eat I will have to exercise, a lot!

I've been seriously working out at the gym for about a month. Mon-Fri I do 30 mins. strength training and 30 mins of cardio 3x week and 1 hour of cardio classes 2 times week. I hoping to see some progress soon.

Hey ladies. I just joined the BBQ Team. Hoping to inspire and give support. I'm on a journey to ultimately lose 125. I've already lost 25 and hoping to lose another 20 lbs by my next 5K race through the mountains of NC on Sept. 17.

I was athletic and in the Army years ago, but just stopped taking care of myself after having three babies and a series stressful desk jobs. As a result of my 10 years of inactivity and unhealthy eating habits, I packed the pounds on. But no more. My kids are a little older and I am reclaiming my sanity.

I am highly motivated to get rid of ALL of this so let's go!

Greetings group,

I joined spark about a month ago and have been pleasantly surprised with all of the information that I've been able to find on here. I'd like to lose 80-100 pounds within the next 12 months,it's an agressive goal and I look forward to the challenge. I think the biggest challenge is on the weekends when Im with my guy or with my sisters..eating isn't a problem because I do most of the cooking and just don't tell them I've cut calories and fat in the recipes..what they don't know might save them a few pounds and they always take leftovers so they must like it...the issue is the alcohol consumption...but I'm working on it.. I look forward to journeying with you all on the road to weight loss... motivation and support go a long way..I hope we can all help each other, feel free to add me as a friend..the road seems a lot less scary when traveling with like minds... Thanks all..

Hello Everyone, My name is Sandy and I just join your group. I am not new to spark but I am trying to get back on track again. See I moved in April and just can't seem to get back into my old routine. I find myself very tired and just lazy. I would start my day off right by eating a healthy breakfast but then I mess up the rest of the day. I really want to break this habit for good. I am married and have 7 kids ages from 18 down to 2 is my youngest. I have lost over 97 lbs since I been with spark people. I still need to lose more as my goal weight is 130-140 and I am currently at 190. I don't really have a support system at home cause my hubby don't think I should lose any weight as he likes me the way I am.But I don't like myself right now.I am doing this for me. I quit smoking a year ago and it feels great. Hubby wasn't too happy by me quitting smoking cause he smokes and has no plan on quitting either. As for my diet goes well I am making a lifestyle change and he just can't see. We fight all the time now and I am just so stress. If I workout he puts it down. I buy healthy foods and he buys junk foods like cupcakes, twinkies,cookies,pizza,corn dogs,french fries,candy, He think he one of the kids you know.he is Italian and loves his pasta. I buy the whole wheat pasta and he refuses to eat it. He is always making something and giving it to the kids and have them keep it to me but saying I love you and want you to have this cause he knows I can't say no to the kids. So as you can see I have no support at home. I am doing this on my own. I really need help and support and motivation..

Hello everyone, I have been a member since last year but it wasn't until I hit 255 that I started taking advantage of all that spark has to offer. My goal weight is 185. According to the experts that is too heavy for my height; but, I was very comfortable with myself at that weight. I didn't feel fat or thin and I loved the way I looked in my clothing.

I have much to lose and have been successful on WW, but not really changing my eating habits and making healthy choices, so of course after WW, I gained the weight back.
