I found a great website that helps track everything for fertility, just thought you might be interested. Its free but for extra stuff they charge you. I have been tracking on it since april, and really find it helpful. www.fertilityfriend.com
in case you want to check it out.
hopefully we'll talk some more soon!

I've been on several months as well and have noticed the same thing. I'm 35 and we've been TTC for 6 months for my first child. I'm just trying to lose a little weight and get in shape beforehand. Also trying to eat healthy for optimum fertility. Good luck to you! Maybe the conversations will pick up....

I've been on this team for a few months now, and not too many people come on. I guess I was hoping to talk to a few people who may be in the same boat as me? I've been trying to get pregnant for the past 10 months. We went to a fertility clinic, and did all the tests and we are both perfectly normal, have been timing baby making intercourse all right, but still no sign of pregnancy. The specialist indicated that basically I'm too old....
we joined the web site that helps us track bbt, cm and everything to see if we could improve our chances. The doctor said that i'd have better chances if i had an egg donor. I thought wow, that would be nice, but I dont' think it will happen. For anumber of reasons, but one of them being the people i thought would support me the most have turned their back. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else in this team would like to talk about their successes?? I come into huddle everyday, to see if anyone has talked... thanks for listening, maybe someone will respond in the next month!! lol

Hi, Welcome and Congrats! I had my first baby at 41, a true miracle, you're just 35, I think that is a great age to have a baby. All my friends kids are now grown up and so they are free to party,it is tough trying to keep up with them but it was about time I slowed down! ;)
Best Wishes!

Hi all! I'm a mom to 3 munchkins (ages 6 yrs, 3 yrs and 2 yrs) and dh and I just found out this past Wed. night that we are expecting #4! Exciting but scary, especially since we have been using b.c., but God decided to bless w/another beautiful child. I'll be 38 when this one is born, 56 when he/she is 18, so I HOPE nobody mistakes me for being the grandma at that time lol.

We did have some health risks w/our two youngest. While in labor w/our daughter, my bp got stroke-level high (as it did while I was in labor w/our youngest son) and I also developed GD while preggers w/Jakie (not sure about when I was preggers w/JoJo, as the dr. I was seeing at the time didn't bother to do a glucose test on me!). I'm hoping that this time, by exercising regulary and watching what I eat, that I won't have these same probs!

Well, sorry for the novel and thanks for reading! Take care and have a WONDERFUL Sunday! :) Jer

I am new to SP but not to fitness or motherhood. I have a son who is an 18 year old freshman in college. I divorced his father a few years ago and have finally found happiness with a wonderful man who I plan to marry soon and we are planning on having children together. Since it's been awhile...I thought I should get into very good shape before I got pregnant this time since it will most likely be a lot more difficult to lose the baby weight at this stage of my life.

I have about 10 pounds of fat to lose and 5-10 pounds of muscle to gain.

Not sure how difficult it will be to get pregnant this time and somewhat concerned about that.

Hoping to find tips, wisdom, and encouragement here.

Thanks!

Hello,
My name is Dawn, I'm 38 and I'm almost 6 months pregnant with my second son. I joined Sparkpeople last spring, but I've been away from it for a while, but I've once again been visiting during these last couple of days. I was talking to someone today about weight loss, and mentioned since I'm pregnant, I'm not really thinking about weight loss. She suggested I look for some groups for pregnant women or moms, so here I am! I live in Philadelphia, PA, work in student affairs at a local university, and definitely don't drink enough water, or eat what I should. My 19 month old also has a milk allergy, so we are getting used to a new diet for him. I'm not much of a message board poster, but maybe I'll see you around! Oh - and since I can add a link here, I'll add my blog address in case anyone is into reading blogs.
Happy New Year! Dawn

Thank you sooo much for the information on babyfit! I have joined and believe I found your group on there. I am mostly apprehensive about being pregnant for the first time...not knowing what to expect (books can only tell you so much ;). I am a fairly healthy person, but still concerned about the risks associated with a later-in-life pregnancy. Not so much for myself, but for the baby. Trying not to stress too much, though, since that's not good either LOL. In the meantime, eating healthy and taking my vitamins.

What I do for a living: retail sales/customer service
How long I plan to work: as long as possible ;)
Will you go back to the same job/position? Yes- I have AMAZING benefits!
And how soon after birth? I would like to take the full 12 weeks of FMLA...but will have to see what is feasible financially.

Hi everyone, my name is Alesha. I just found out last week that I am pregnant with my first child. It seems strange when most of my friends have kids in middle school and high school, and here I am just starting out at age 35. I'm thrilled, but apprehensive at the same time. I've been on SparkPeople before but hadn't really got into the forums or tracking much. My main hope was to find a site where I could get support and also have a way of tracking my food and exercise. I was happy to find a group that is facing similar issues and concerns.

Hi! Glad to find a nice team with a same problems as I have. I sometimes think that nobody in the world doesn't feel like me. And that nobody doesn't understand my problems. I am very proud of myself because I lost 30 pounds since I have joined SP in February this year.
I have a nice husband. We are married for 8.5 years and have no child. emoticon
Hope that this experience and your help and advice will have a power to help me and all of us.

I turned 40 this past July and decided it was now or never as for having a family of own. After having myomecotmy surgery in July to remove Fibroid tumors and extensive traveling for my job, my SO and I have decided to start TTC. When God sees fit for me to conceive, it will be my first and my SO's 4th (he has all girls, 1 set of twins). I work for a major oil & gas/energy company as an Engineering Technical Assist and plan to work up to at least my 8th month to maintain my sanity. More than likely I will go back to the same postion after having my baby. As they are pretty flexible with my schedule, I will more than likely go back to half days and work from home a few days per week. If I have my way, I will go back when my child is about 3 months old. However, only God knows what will actually happen.

I just turned 35 and then found out I was pregnant! We have a sweet 3 year old boy and when we tried for #2, it wasn't working. After several tests, we were unexplained. It should have been working. So after 18 months we had one round of IUI and it worked! We just needed a little help, I guess. I now stay home with my DS, but I sell items on ebay as my PT job. I am probably a little over 10 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant the first time and last time I gained 50-60 pounds, yikes! I want to be more health concious this time.

Hi! My name is Lori, and this is my first post on SparkPeople, though I've been reading daily e-mail blasts for about a year. I am 44, and am 13 weeks pregnant with my first. I was married for 17 years to someone who didn't want me to get pregnant or to quit working. We eventually adopted three girls from China. We divorced about two years ago, and I married my high school sweetheart in May. I had one cycle in June, and then boom! We didn't even know I could get pregnant, but we were willing to try. He has two kids. So, even though this is my first bio baby, it will be my sixth kiddo! I practiced civil litigation law for over 15 years, took a break for a while, and now analyze pension benefits -- very different career path! We live in Castle Rock, CO, a town just south of Denver. Looking forward to getting to know you.

What do you do for a living?
How long do you plan to work while pregnant?
Will you go back to the same job/position?
And how soon after birth?

I've cleaned houses for 10 years for the same clients.
I will work till the middle of my 6th month, October.
I may keep a few clients that will allow me to bring my baby to work maybe 4 months after birth. But also want to find a work from home job. I use to be a trade assistant where I sold things for clients on eBay and other sites for a percentage, may get back into that.

Hi Michelle!!!
Congrats on your pregnancy!!!
I too was told that I could not have children, my husband and I went through a number of surgeries tests drugs etc, in March of 2005 we were told that we had a less then 5% chance of ever having a baby. In June I found ou that I was pregnant! We are now the proud parents of a 2 and 1/2 year old little boy!!! We have been trying to get pregnant again for the last 2 years, which lead me to sparkpeople which has now lead me to you and this team!
I am hoping that with weightloss and healthy living we will be able to give Carter a brother or sister!!
I wish you much health and little mrning sickness!

Cheers;
Nancy

I am Michelle. I live in Kansas City and I am pregnant at 41! I was told for years I couldn't or wouldn't conceive for many reasons. Well I joined Spark in 2007 and lost 30 pounds by my goal date of my 40th birthday. The weight loss helped my monthly become more regular, like clock work actually to the day every month. And exactly a year later, wondering why I slept for two straight months, I decided to do a pregnancy test, although I had been disappointed so many times in the past at the results. Well on the morning of my birthday I took the test, it read positive right away, I just stared at it forever and then took the other one in the package, Positive again! I finally showed my husband, he just stared at it, then he smiled and I cried. Long story short, I was 8 weeks and 3 days when I got into the Dr.(the same one that said it wouldn't happen!)and had my first sonogram and there he/she was just a little embryo. I cried some more, recently heard the heartbeat and cried some more! So as of today I did gain back the weight I lost during the long hard winter and was told not to gain more that 20 total during this pregnancy. Well I am 13 weeks and 5 days along and already gained 8 of them! I'm hoping others will join this team to share in the aches, pains and joys of this miracle as well as help each other stay on track to healthy eating and exercise!
