There are no quick fixes. Getting healthy and managing your weight it is not a temporary thing. It's a series of day-to-day, meal-by-meal choices that you have to stick with for the long haul.

Hi Deb,

I copied and pasted the link into the "Add Link" (above this message box) that you put in your message and I even tried to put it in the address line also and it wouldn't come up. I have had that happen before. Thank you for trying though! I sounds simple enough so I think I will try it his plan, I mean 20.8 pounds in 2 months. WOW, that's great.

His plan was showing on the learning channel for about 5 weeks I think ... he has has books out as well as a cd for those who wish to listen.. but you don't need either.. simple and easy to fallow..

1. When you are hungry ... go and eat!

This means.. if your not hungry at breaky, lunch or sup.. don't eat.. if you are.. eat!

2. When you eat, eat what ever you want to eat!

really what ever.. I had 4 cheese pizza last night and still dropped a lb...

3. When you eat, eat consciously..
chew your food, taste it.. simple

4. When you are satisfied/Full (not stuffed) STop eating.

I eat what I like when I like.. eat slower so I can taste it and let my body tell me when it is full.. Bingo it works! I did not believe it.. Thought it was a gimmick.. but go and check it out..

I am loving it!

Thank you for the welcome... :o)

It's wonderful that you have gotten such a good start on losing the weight. I haven't ever heard of
Paul Mckenna but, I would like to hear more. What is different about his program from the others you tried?

Hi,

Here are some little bits of me :)

I am a Canadian living in Germany with my husband, 3 year old daughter and my little dog.. see my sparks page.. pics of them.

At the moment I am very much over weight and well am hating it big time.. so I am doing something about it! I am not on any diet. Well not really anyways.. I watched a tv show with Paul Mckenna's " I can make you thin!" and I tried it.. I am down 20.8 lbs in 2 months just doing his simple plan. I have tried WW, LCarb and LCalorie.. did not work.. His plan is simple and no calorie counting or carb reduction.. Yahooooooooooo!

I plan to get my cute big butt shaking and turn it into a cute little butt very soon.. your team looks like it is fun and very full of support.

Thank you so much for having me.

D

Hi CAROL,

I am so glad to have you join our team. Over time we will all get to know you and you us. We have a very kind and friendly family here and we all learn from each other.

I personally am on a low carb program and walk and Zumba for exercise. I have never been to a Zumba class. I use the You Tube link in my profile below to ZUMBA and I love it!!! I have lost about 10 lbs and 25 inches since I started keeping track last July. My short term goal is to lose down to 179 lbs by Christmas 2008 and long term goal is to lose down to around 125 lbs by Christmas 2009.

Welcome to our family, Carol!!!

Hello all!! I was so glad to find this group. I found Zumba about 4 months ago, and absoultly love it. I find myself some weeks going to all 3 classes my gym offers in the eveenings. I actually am disappointed when the class is over!! I am a member of Weight Watchers and have taken off 55 lbs so far. I have hit a wall and have not lost anything in about 4 months, though I am holding my own. I walk 1 mile a day all days and 5 mile 3X a week. I also ride my bike throughout the week. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get this weight off. I need all the positive energy I can get!! I am looking forward to this team!!

Welcome Lee

I love the SWDOTB story!!!

I seem to visit each 10 lb grouping for awhile on my way down...I think of it as saying goodbye for the last time, visiting each pound...getting to know it...greiving it (well...a funny grief) and then leaving...

Glad you are here

Welcome and Thank you for joining us, Lee. That was very interesting about your name. I had no idea what SWDOTB stood for. That is a beautiful image.

I have never even tried to stand on my head, I bet that feels good. But, then I have never tried yoga. Congratulation on your victory of that and getting into a size 12!

Happy late 7th wedding anniversary! emoticon

Hello! Thank you, Charlie for inviting me to join your team. How are you all doing today? I'm from Northern Indiana and I'm 51 years old.

I've remarried after surviving a difficult divorce and my DH and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary in July. It was during an especially dark time during that divorce, that I dreamed that I was dancing on a beach. It was such a wonderful feeling and I remember thinking how could I dream something so beautiful when things were really falling apart in awake time. I was taking a Native American literature course at the university where I work and the instructor asked us what name we would give ourselves and I chose my name from that dream.

So here I am 12 years later and I found Zumba a year ago. Zumba dance makes me laugh, so much fun and where my torso used to be stiff; Zumba has helped me loosen up. I'm looking forward to this coming Thursday when I will Zumba again!

I missed my dance class yesterday morning because I signed up for training and took a class in Reiki which is something I've been wanting to pursue for a long time. I believe that the support here in our Spark community has helped me become more confident to pursue the things I want to do and to lose the weight.

My beginning weight was 256. But I've lost over 80 pounds and I've been struggling alittle in the 170's for the last few months and am looking to hopefully get into the 160's real soon, so any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated as I try to cut back on calories and add strength training to my fitness routine.

Oh, I also wanted to share that I experienced another personal victory just this last Tuesday by trusting my legs enough to kick up into a headstand against a wall in my yoga class. I really would like to get leaner. And the name on my Reiki certification is She Who Dances On The Beach!

Aloha, I'm Renee'!

I'm 43, married 22 years, and have 4 kids.

I'm not in on the 2 miles per day... sorry. I am in on the 10 minutes to get something started, tho :)

This morning I got up and went for a swim, and loved it. Why haven't I been doing this all summer? So, I think I'll be doing that this month and hopefully longer until it's just too cold :) We'll see.

I just started completely over diet wise on 8/1.
I was 235 back in March 07 when I began the first time and lost 57 pounds, but gained back 18.5 of that just over the last few months! Well, I'm back to losing again! gotta get off that gain then on to goal!!!!

Renee'

Welcome Lisa,
You bet you can join me in walking two miles a day. When do you want to start? Maybe when we get enough people we will have a challenge of this too. But for now I'm walking in the mornings, how about you.
