Hey everyone. As of three years ago I was 400 lbs and rising, diabetes and sleep apnea. I was a mess. I had tried losing weight many times over the course of my life, but it never stuck. I got sick and had to have two surgeries to get me back to “normal.” I had my gall bladder removed and then two feet of my small intestine. I almost died twice in 4 months at the age of 25. Due to the surgery I lost 95 lbs, but I was eating very little. I gained 45 lbs back and became a little frustrated. A year and a half after my surgeries I made a choice. I chose to change my life, not just to change my diet. I began to eat better which included eating more vegetables than I ever had. I also started going to the gym on a consistent basis, up to 6 times a week. As of right now, I have lost 165 lbs and no longer have sleep apnea or diabetes. I am in the best shape of my life even though I still need to lose more fat. I have run two three 5k’s, one 10k, a half-marathon and two adventure races within the last year, and am now an ACE certified personal trainer.
