I will be 72 in a few days so I do understand. There is a team called the Chair Exercise Team that may be able to give you exercise ideas that you can do. Check my page and click on the team icon. I also find that I cannot get on the floor so do floor exercises on the bed, just remove all pillows, etc. that would make the bed bumpy. It is also easier to get off of than getting up from the floor. I find I can also get on my knees on the bed.

Hi - I've been a member of SparkPeople for a number of years but it has intimidated me and I simply ignored it for years. I was 276 and went down to 249 - that was last summer - slowly I've gone back up to 286 and I seem to have stuck. I just turned 70 and want to get down 99 pounds by next spring. I have a serious problem exercising because I have a bad knee and my legs swell up to twice their size.
I have one child, a daughter who is 46 and she is married with one child, a daughter, who is 7. I have problems walking and so now use a cane. I worked until I turned 65 and retired when my department was outsourced to AZ. I live in NY up on the Hudson River and absolutely love living in a small village where Main St. literally ends at a park on the edge of the River - we're surrounded by mountains yet I'm only 1-1/4 hrs away from NYC on the train. I love to read and recently moved to a senior townhouse development here in my village. I need support and friends and examples from people my age who have had to fight the hard fight to lose weight and aren't as "flexible" and active as most of these younger one.
Well that's my story, to me its become depressing and so makes me want to vegetate in my recliner and watch the world go by outside my window.
