Haha, breaking the laptop was pretty painful, especially considering I couldn't do much but sit around. I ended up watching a lot of TV, unfortunately. Let me know if you need recommendations on good shows, lol! I'm not sure how many people are in the group... maybe a collective goal of 400 miles and revise it the following month based on how we did? I'm excited!

What would be a good challenge for the fall. We don't get snow here like back east, so walking is usually an option for me. If not, then I dance, or do some type of indoor exercise.
Glad your leg is better!

Golly, I don't know which would be more painful, breaking the laptop or the leg! Glad you're back!

We haven't done a team challenge, at least while I've been here. Might be fun! emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the welcome! In addition to breaking my leg, I also broke my laptop and so was not able to get back on here quickly. :( We did end up going camping and I am off crutches and out there walking again. Yay! I love team challenges to rack up miles collectively. Do you guys ever do those around here?

WOOF & Welcome to you & Wilson! So sorry about your leg. Do give yourself lots of time to heal.

Wilson sounds like a sweetie! My previous Basset had been abandoned & with me, was an over-dependent Mama's Boy. He was more of a Duct Tape Dog. Even Velcro leaves air spaces! This guy had to be touching me most of the time! He was a great walking partner though. My current guy is more mellow & well, my scales show it. emoticon My dogs are what keep me moving. Or not!

So glad to have you aboard!

Welcome to the team. Sorry about your leg. I was out for part of the summer with leg issues so I know how you feel. By girls know how Wilson feels, they only got short walks when I was under doctors orders.

I have two Velcro dogs. Celina and Emma. Doesn't matter if I have been away for 5 mins or 5 hours they are always happy to see me and hate to be apart.

That's a bummer you broke your leg. Hope it heals quickly. Your dog is a doll!

Hi everyone! I'm thrilled to join you guys! I recently broke my leg (hence the topic title) in the Warrior Dash, a 5k obstacle race that travels nationwide. This group sounded perfect for me as my dog was a big motivator in going for a crutch walk around the neighborhood. A couple of fingers are numb now but I'm tired of sitting around like a bump on a log. I've been part of sparkpeople for years now but I have been away for far too long. And now with the broke leg, I've been gaining weight. Sitting around with nothing to do but eat. Blah.

Anywho, my dog is named Wilson and he is what is affectionately known as a velcro dog, always stuck to me. He's a blue heeler that I rescued from the pound. He arguably loves food more than me which is saying a lot. He minds perfectly but does have some separation anxiety. He doesn't know what to do if I don't tell him! We've been working on self-esteem for years but I'm pretty sure it's hardwired. ;) He's been a fantastic training partner over the years and I hope to get him back out there in a couple of weeks once I'm healed. As a treat, we may go camping. I look forward to getting to know you all!
