your welcome. I found when I feel bad to turn to those workouts for their healing effects. As I start to feel better then I add in more time doing those type of workouts before adding in workouts that are intense. It seems like I don't have as many setbacks that way.

Hugs, got to get over those lung clots first. Will they let you do an indoor bike first to get in shape.

Qi gong like Lee Holden, yin yoga, restorative yoga, are great workouts that are easier on the body. I have some workouts called classical stretch from classicalstretch.com that help the fascia get untwisted which decreases the pain from fibro. Just some ideas to consider.

hello, nice to meet you! I have been a member for a long time but I tend to lurk because I rairly have time to update my spark and see what and how you guys are doing. I hope that you get well, my prayers and energy are with you. Even though you can't exercise right now you can still make healthy food choices. Don't get discouraged, eat well, move as much as your body allows and keep the faith that you are getting healthier every day!

So funny story, well not funny ha ha... Last year I had four blood clots in my right lung likely because I was so sedentary from the fibro. So this last week I was training for my 5k and I was so proud because I had just run 0.5k (keep in mind i weigh over 350lbs) so this was a huge achievement in my training. I am losing inches all over my body and I just know the weight loss will help my pain.

So I had just finished the running segment and switched to the walking segment (that's how you train for the 5k) and all of the sudden I couldn't breathe. I have Reactive Airway Disorder so really humid days make me wheezy or when people burn things etc...

So I got home and started my nebulizer but I couldn't breathe. My nephews came home, called 911 and basically I got to the hospital and was diagnosed with blood clots in both of my lungs. I couldn't believe it. I was exercising. I was active. I was devastated. So my training is halted temporarily. I don't know if I can even walk the race which is for Ovarian Cancer and I was doing it for my mom because she has Ovarian Cancer. I am a little bummed. Now I have pain with no outlet. So depressed....

emoticon emoticon to the team!! I agree that doing too much too fast can cause some tough flares that last a while. Listen to your body and rest when it tells you to through the muscle pains. I find the weather has a great deal of influence on muscle fatigue and pain. Best wishes on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Be careful, too much exercise can make things worse. It's better to do moderate amounts.

My name is Lisa and I am 38. I have had fibro since 1999 when I was hit head on by a drunk driver. It also left me with other chronic pain, a brain injury (so now insomnia and balance problems and memory loss) and of course the fibro. I have some mental disorders too since the accident.

About three weeks ago, i had an epiphany which is sort of a long story so I will go into it some other time, so I started exercising heavily doing the couch to 5k training. I used to be a cutter to make my pain go away. Now I use the exercise to make it go away. I trade one for another and it helps to a degree.

I have a deadline for this 5k as it is on the 21st of September. It is a race for Ovarian cancer and my mom has been fighting it for 8 years. So I am fighting to get to this goal. I WILL run across that finish line no matter what it costs me.

I have found a new will, new courage, and made the decision that this pain has stolen enough. I am taking my life back and that feels very good indeed.

Blessed be to all
