Well - I am back from the dead it seems. I was having such a hard time and was almost ready to give it all up. Had someone on FB mention a supplement to me and so far (4 days) it has done wonders. I am sleeping, have a better outlook on life and have almost no pain.

emoticon Hi DUSTYPRARIE ! How lucky that you have a pool. Sounds yummy! I love being in the water and I find it so helpful to my fibro. When I had a car I used to belong to the YWCA and I was swimming 5 times a week. I have mild seizures with my fibro that have a preceeding headache about 20 minutes before they hit. After the seizure I have brain fog for hours. So I don't drive. I tried riding the city bus but I fell twice and scared my family into demanding that I stay off the bus. Sweet of them. I'm thinking about risking a Craig's List ad asking for a ride - ya never know right? Do you have any fibro relief hints?

Smiling through the pain,

emoticon So sorry to hear about the complication that postponed your race. I hope that you'll be able to recovery and do that someday. My grandkids are my life and joy. My daughter and two grandsons (ages 6, 13) visit weekly. We do arts & crafts, computer games and read books together. Sometimes, if my little one wants, we get my guitar out. Sometimes my fibro has me in pain and tired but I always get through the visit with a smile. Then when they leave I get out my blue ice ointment and tylenol and rest. And you didn't scare me away at all. I'm a newbie here & it was a little scary to begin writing to members but I'm here to meet people, give and fine support.

Smiling through the pain,
BertaLynn

m emoticon emoticon Ready for October? We'll be getting our first frost in a few nights. Hard to believe.

I've got to touch up the bathroom paint this afternoon. I'll be glad to have that project done. Over the weekend I got a small container of paint for accents on the kitchen cupboards. Might save that project for something to do while hubby is away hunting.

Enjoy your last day of September. Happy sparking!

Hi Ladies! Hope the weekend is going well for you.

The fall mornings have arrived where I live. We're still getting warm days, which is just fine with me. We have a small pool large enough to cool off in and do some exercise. The debate is on just when to drain it. I haven't used it in the last few weeks. Just too chilly.

They say it's a good idea to change up our exercise plan every season. I'm just not sure what to do about it. I am out in the boonies, so it's not like I can just hop in the car on a whim and go to a facility. I need some inspiration and motivation.

I'll figure something out. what are you all doing to change things up?

A goal without a plan is just a wish.

Hi there, I am still relatively new and am having a hard time making friends, Before I started SP I was gung ho because I had started a couch to 5k and I was kicking booty all on my own. I am morbidly obese but I was so determined to train hard and RUN this race, I was doing it! ME!

The race was so important to me. One, it was my first, secondly, it was a race for the cure of ovarian cancer and my mom has been fighting OC for over 8 years which is not common. Her and my dad were going to be at the finish line. I was on target to run most of the race.

Then my body betrayed my and I was running and switched to walking like I was supposed to but I couldn't breathe. Got to the hospital and lo and behold, both lungs are just riddled with blood clots. I had some blood clots last year but we thought it was a fluke thing.

My spirit has been crushed ever since. No race. I am still recuperating. I have the motivation, but my body is as weak as a baby. It makes me so angry. Which in a way is funny because I used to hate exercise but now I am just itching to get back out there.

I do keep a food diary to make sure I don't start bingeing. I have the hardest time getting enough protein. Know anything about protein shakes? Does anyone take supplements?

Does anyone have pets? I have two dogs. Paige my Boxer/Pit mix. She is my heart and soul and will be 13 in December. Then there is Sofie, she is a white-ticked and brindle Greyhound. She is my princess and acts every bit the diva. She is 9 and as luck would have it, her birthday was the day before mine. People do not pick their dogs, I don't think. It is the other way around. I also have a black cat, my baby Jonas. I raised him from the day he was born so it takes him a while to get used to people. Oh yes, I also have an immortal bird, a cockatiel, named Nathan. I could talk about my "kids" all day and all night. They are what I live for. I hope I haven't frightened you away emoticon

Blessed be

Hi. Bri (long "I") from Colorado. I don't see a chat thread so I thought I'd start one.

Did y'all have a nice weekend? Hubby works 4 10-hr days so always gets a 3 day weekend. Friday he wanted to relax so I went to the park by myself. I ended up getting my car stuck in mud. He relaxed some once he pulled it out.

Saturday we shopped. Farmer's market, then the commissary. Lot's of healthy food in the house now.

Sun, not so good here. I go sick in the afternoon. I'm guessing because I took med on an empty stomach.

With that exception it was good.

Have a sparkling week. (((angel emoticon )))
