Hi Eileen: Thanks for the welcome! I just checked out your sparkpage and see that you are a retired RN. I have an older sister that is a RN, and my niece (her daughter) is now a RN as well! They live in Calgary, Canada, so I only see them once a year.
Do you have any idea what type of anti-inflammatory would work best for neck, rotator cuff, and sacral pain!? I have tried Celebrex, (which worked) but my previous Dr. took me off them because of all the hype of stomach bleeds. I've tried Naproxen, but it didn't seem to make a difference. My Dr. is hesitant to put me on a narcotic,...but I feel that my pain is out of control. I haven"t wanted to admit this...but I think my pain has worsened and it's causing me to become even more debilitating.
I would welcome any advice?
Thanks!
I would like to friend you also!

Hi MITZEN21:
Thanks for the welcome and for the words of encouragement! Yeah, I was having a rough day, that day. I'm on Lyrica for the Neuromuscular pain + Fibro, It used to work well, but I'm starting to wonder if it's really helping anymore. After talking to my pain specialist, he increased the dosage, but it didn't make any difference! I'm wondering if there is something else I could try. Also, I take Advil extra strength and muscle relaxers to help with neck, rotator cuff, and back pain, however, I don't think it is good to be on them all the time. I hoping to find something else that works. What meds are you on that you find are helping?
I love to swim and I used to belong to a Fibro water exercise class, but after a couple of years, I just couldn't take the chlorine anymore. Even after showering. They were indoor pools.
I've been talking to my husband about investing in one of those endless pools. It would be great if our Insurance would cover it! So I just have to get my doctor write out a script for it? That would be great!
I was thinking of getting a rebounder! .Where did you get yours? I try and walk when I can, but I can only walk for about 20 mins. I have foot problems too.
I would like to add you as a friend.

Hi Jane, welcome to the group. I have trouble finding a form of exercise too. I too have nuro problems, along with artritis throughout my spine. I take a lot of meds for the pain, & muscle spasms. UGG! I enjoyed water aerobics. (covered by insurance) You can even get your insurance to cover the cost of a pool if the Dr. will wright a RX for it! emoticon I also have a rebounder (mini trampoline) My feet never leave the surface. All I do is lift my heels "like" I'm walking. Just keep trying, I know you'll find what works for you! Just don't stop trying!

emoticon Jane and emoticon to the team. We all know what you mean. It is difficult to find a program that fits our needs. Check out the reading area and the exercise article as well as videos. You can try some and see how they fit for you. Best wishes on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.
Try to be all that you can be. Work at it a day at a time.

Hi Everyone! My name is Jane and I'm from Ontario, Canada. I have Fibromyalgia as well. I also suffer from chronic neuropathic back pain due to several fractures, and nerve damage, and Rotator Cuff Tendinitis, due to several shoulder injuries.
I'm becoming frustrated trying to exercise because I'm in so much pain all the time.
