welcome to the group, I commend you for working those long shifts. I finally got my disability in July. I worked in kitchens my entire life and wow all that standing and walking on concrete floors did me in. Give us a shout if there's anything we can help you with

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I believe that exercise is the key, it's just so hard to do when you hurt everywhere. Kinda a double edged sword. Sleep is important too but there is a fine line for me between too much sleep and not enough. The 12 hr shifts have become so difficult that I cut back to part time. After just one shift, my back and hips are so painful that sleep is sometimes difficult which further exacerbates the problem. I just keep trying and plugging along and am going to slowly start exercising on my days off. Thanks for the support.

emoticon to the team, the support and education here is fantastic! Shift work must cause your fibro to flare up. I was diagnosed 20 years ago when no believed there was such a thing. I find getting enough sleep and rest help me more than anything else. There is so much more information out there now. I hope you are able to find lots of tools that will help you. I wish you a successful journey.

I'm so happy to find this site. I'm a 50 year old night shift nurse who has about 40 lbs to lose to get back to my "feel good" weight. The 12 hour shifts have really taken a toll on my body and I also have fibromyalgia to deal with. I am looking forward to returning to a healthy lifestyle and feeling great.
