I am also kind of in your place. My husband and I are on the fence about having another child. My thoughts are go ahead and work on being healthier. That way, I'll be pounds lighter when/if starting a pregnancy as I am finally back to prepreg weight which for me was overweight. I can then carry the healthy habits I have made recently into any pregnancy we might have and then after pregnancy. Go ahead and create those healthy habits now.

Okay so I am trying to get back down to 150 or so. My son is 2 and I have been putting off weight loss by telling myself there is no reason to diet when I will be soon trying for another child. Just over new years I decided its time to lose some weight regardless of my future plans. So far so good, I am already down 7.5 pounds. My husband and I do plan on trying for #2 in about 5 or 6 months, so we will see. I just hope I don't gain it all back.
