Hi Posha!

I know everything can be a bit overwhelming but you've already taken your first step so you get a big WooHoo! for that right off the top.

When I first started, someone gave me the advice to write down all my goals.
It's better for most, to start out small. I work towards my goals at 5 lb. increments so it seems realistic and very doable. Everybody is different. It's up to you.

The food tracker is also a great tool. It has opened my eyes to what I am actually eating and gives me percentages so I can see where I need to tweak things.

It's not like you have to start your journey at a full on sprint. Slow and easy wins the race.
Another good tip that SparkPeople has is to start with 10 minutes a day and then go from there. Any exercise is better than none and 10 minutes starts adding up after a while.

Good luck and you CAN do this!

Hi, my name is Posha. I am a 26 year old stay at home mom of one 4 year old boy. My husband and I have been married and together for about 2 years now and we have been trying to concieve for about one. Went to see a dotor and had a bunch of different tests and utrasounds run. Everything is fine and normal except for my body fat percentage and bad cholesterol. Both are a bit high. She told me my best chances of concieving are to lose weight. I've wanted to get back to my 18yr old self for about 5 years now and have had failure after failure. I was to the point where I thought I would never be able to lose the weight and I would be 'fat forever'! My husband works 3rd shift and sleeps most of the day or he would be helping me out a lot more. Unfortunately his jobs hours leave not enough time for excercising when we barely have enough to actually spend time with each other and our son. So. My doctor told me about this website when I explained my HUGE lack of motivation. So far I have seen so many interesting things I am almost overwhelmed and don't even know where to begin. I know I want to lose about 100 pounds and be all around healthier. I haven't had a good nights sleep in YEARS! I toss and turn every night and wake up feeling even more tired than I did when I laid down. I miss being able to walk miles and miles around town and still be ready to go a few more. I miss the energy! I want to be able to actually take my oh-so-loveable puppy for a run and be able to keep up with her. I have become such a reclusive hermit this past year and really want and need to get out more often to enjoy the outdoors like I used to when I was younger. I used to love dancing and now I get out of breath after a few minutes. And I SO want to be able to model off my box of skinny clothes for my hubby. ;D I am hoping to somehow figure out a solid schedule and be on my way to losing some pounds within the month!
