I have no ideas for you but I have to say congrats on the decision and good luck on the diet change. I am in awe of vegetarians and would love to go raw but me and my husband love our meat! I am slightly envious!

Hi there and welcome. Good luck changing your lifestyle and reaching your goals and let us know how we can help you on this journey.

I am a meat eater myself, but in our house we often have meatless meals. We try to make pasta dishes in different ways. We also do taco night and make our own quesadillas, and you can do both of those without meat. Two of us in the house LOVE big salads...meal sized with yummy cheese on top, maybe a hard boiled egg, some shrimp, etc. Are you also not eating fish? If you are still eating it there are a TON of healthy ways to make it. I also highly recommend soups, especially as the weather gets cooler. We make tortellini soup, escarole soup, red and yellow pepper soup, etc. There are lots of good recipes on Spark recipes and you can break it down by category. Also, if you haven't already I think you might find a vegetarian group.

Hope to see you around!

Hey everyone....after years of trying to diet on my own I finally gave up. I'm back on spark and feeling a little more motivated. I'm in the process of becoming vegetarian after finding it more difficult to even touch meat. Not sure what made me get to this point but it probably had something to do with that new show the Hutterites, they had an episode showing how they killed their own food....anyhow, because I am new to eating a meatless diet I would really like to meet some new people who are already vegetarian...anyone have any really yummy recipies that could ease not only me but my family into being vegetarian?? :) I have two kids, 2 and 6 months, and my mother has also decided to join me on this journey....my husband loves his meat and although he will eat vegetarian dishes he will never give up meat, which is fine with me. :) Can't wait to get started....

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me....
