I am a 25 year old mommy to a 3 year old little girl names Katelyn, she is by biggest motivation in life! She loves to dance, and has to be on the go! She is stubborn like me, which is a good and bad thing! As of right now I weigh 20 more pounds than what I did after her being born, and it has taken a hit on my self esteem. I want to be in better shape so I can have more energy and be able to keep up with my daughter. My goal is to lose about 25 lbs by June, just in time for our vacation, and my daughters first time going to the beach! emoticon

Hi, I'm a 29 year old mother to six children ages 9,7,5,4,2 and 5 months. After the fifth birth I did not make it all the way down to pre-pregnancy weight so this time around I have more than I usually do. A good 25 pounds to shed and 45 lbs total to be at my ideal weight. I'm having a hard time being mentally motivated and having marital problems does not help either. My preschoolers are great kiddos, very active and I wish I had their energy. :o)

Hi! I'm Holly, a 31-year-old mother to a wonderful 3-year-old daughter, Charlotte. I struggled with my weight most of my life and most of the way through college, until a long illness jump-started weight loss. I worked hard to lose the last 30 pounds I wanted to lose and by 2004 was quite happy with my weight and the shape I was in (60 pounds lost and running 20-35 miles a week). Sadly a very high-stress job, a car accident related injury and commuting an hour and a half every day took its toll and by early 2008 I had gained back about 10 pounds of what I lost and was no longer exercising. In the process of attempting to lose that weight, I discovered I was pregnant with my daughter. I gained 73 pounds during my pregnancy. Since having her I haven't even made it back to my pre-pregnancy weight, let alone my goal weight, and a recent major upheaval at work, combined with working with predominantly male coworkers that can and do eat anything they want, has led me to pack back on some pounds.

Some days I feel like I can't keep up with Charlotte. She's a very active little girl, never sitting still more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time, and it breaks my heart to tell her I can't "dance" (mostly just jumping up and down or running in place) with her all evening like she wants me to. I joined SparkPeople off of a MyPoints email in the hopes that this will help me reach my goal of losing some weight and becoming healthier for my daughter. I'm one of those people who is highly motivated by competition and what other people think of me, so hopefully this online community is just the place for me.

So anyway, hi, everyone!

Hellooooo everyone. I'm a Mama to 4 wonderful children ages 13, 12, 2, and 11 months. Never dieted a day in my life, solidly subscribe to the chocolate channel, and because I'm actually getting married (for the first time!) in May, I have decided that I would like to lose around 10 pounds. If nothing else, being part of this website for the last few months has shown me how MUCH I eat (read everything leftover on every kid's plate!) as well as how little I was exercising. I'm feeling super these days. Exercising regularly. eating....well, I'm a work in progress on that one :S I can't tell you how motivating I found last months challenge so I hope if I continue with this that I'll reach that goal of losing a few pounds. So far I'm seeing inches lost not pounds which I'm aok with. If I don't lose anything that's aok too as I'm happy to be getting healthier with some like-minded people :)

Hi! I am a 39 year-old mom of a 3 year-old boy. I had the fortune of being skinny all of my life until I had my son. I still have 30lbs of stubborn "baby-fat" to lose. I haven't ever really dieted seriously, or been a regular exerciser and need to change my habits. That said, I am approaching 40 and would like another child. I think things would be a lot better if I was healthy and in shape. Plus, sometimes I think it is impossible to keep up with my little guy and I know exercising gives you more (much needed) energy. Aren't we all in that stage with our kids?

Hi Everyone!
I have a 5 yr old son. He is very active and inattentive (bordering on ADHD?) I have ADD and so does my husband so I wouldn't be surprised. I have quit smoking for 17 days so I'm working on that. I don't want to gain 100lbs from quitting. I want to be healthier to keep up with my very spirited 5 yr old. I am also looking for child-rearing advice. I don't get along with my MIL when it comes to my parenting (i lived with her for 5 yrs and she always told me I did everything wrong as a Mom.) Otherwise, we get along. Plus, my mom died 8 yrs ago so I can't go to her for advice.

Anyway, I feel desperate sometimes as a mom because I have ADD and don't know what the hell I'm doing sometimes. My biggest challenge lately has been trying to get my son to listen to me and not start arguing his way out of following directions. He is an angel in preschool. Whenever I ask the teachers about him, they just say how sweet he is. My latest thing has been to tell him I'm going to take away some of his toys or tell him no tv time. Any advice from the other Mom's would be much appreciated. Help!

Hi Everyone! I am a happily married 31 year old mother of two. I have a son Evan who is 6 and my daughter Athena is 4. My family and friends mean everything to me and I would like to be with them for a while. I want to lose weight, so I can be active with my kids how I used to be, be around to meet my grandchildren, and feel good about myself again. I also want my children to learn how to live healthy lifestyles, so they can live long, healthy, happy lives.

Hi everyone! My name is Liz and I am 28. I am a mommy, wife, student, and teacher. My son Damian is 2. I am getting my masters degree in Sociology, and I currently teach it as well.

I have been "big" all of my life, but since I have had my son I have been trying to focus on being healthier. It has been a struggle, but I'm still working at it. I look forward to losing with everyone :)

Hello and welcome! I too am a working mom and wife. I am a wildlife biologist and you would think that I wouldn't need to work to keep the weight off from the baby but alas as we soon find out even the outdoor field is filled with paper work and meetings! I hope perhaps we can keep up our motivation! Welcome from the cold state of Maine.

Hello everyone! My name is Eva and I am 33. I am mommy to a wonderful 3 year old girl, Josephine. I am an army wife and a microbiologist. I am originally from Puerto Rico but currently living in El Paso, TX.

I've had a hard time with weight all my life. During my college years I reached a healthy weight. I was very active and kep it off for several years. My weight gain started again when I got married. I discovered I enjoyed cooking and of course, eating it too. Then along came my bundle of joy and I gained some more. I went back to my pre-baby weight, using the South Beah Diet, back in 2009; but I quickly gained it all back. Four years later, I am still carrying the baby weight and I am at the heaviest I've ever been.

I hope to meet some amazing people here!

Hi all! I am a 31 year old mommy to 3 beautiful children. My preschoolers name is Christian and he def keeps me busy. I am recently separated from my husband of 8 years and have decided I need to work on me. I have lost 28 pounds since Jan 1st, most of it from stress. I am trying to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle because I want to be around to see my babies grow up and hopefully have babies of their own. As unhealthy as I have been that probably wouldn't have happened! I really need new friends and people just to help keep me on track and keep me accountable! Hope to talk to you all soon!!! Haley

Hi, I'm April and I have a two year old son named Junior. I've toyed with my weight loss for many, many years. Since my son and husband, my weight has gone up more. Ok, I won't blame them. lol...I've lost 15 pounds since Feb. last year and to me that is not enough. I've seen this site and thought tracking my foods and fitness and having people to talk to could help in my goal to lose 50 pounds by December.

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I have a three year old daughter named Meadow. I have struggled with weight issues since the age of seven and had tried just about everything, but nothing ever stuck. A little less than a year ago I lost my stepfather after a very short bout with liver cancer. He made mistakes when he was younger but for most of the time he was in my life he actively tried to live a healthy life so when we lost him so suddenly it made me feel like I owed it to him to fight harder to have a long life and to my daughter as well. Before I started on this website I had lost 53 lbs, which is the most weight loss success I've ever had. I tend to lag though when I've used the same methods for too long without a change and a friend recommended this site so I jumped in with both feet. The challenge has been awesome and has made me really fight the urge to take it easy.

Hi everyone! My name is Tracy and I just turned 33 on saturday!!! Oh that hurt. Anyway, I have 3 children - Breanna 5, Ethan 3 and Ariel just turned 1. I also work full time as does my wonderful husband so we are very busy. Trying to find time to pee by myself is hard much less trying to find time to exercise and convenience food is not always the healthiest! I really need some encouragement and also the thought of having to tell people my weight and what I've been doing to try and get it off leads to a lot of motivation so here I am. I joined last week and have been doing pretty good about tracking my food and exercise but still trying to figure out how to get more time for exercise in. I have looked up a few recipes but have only utilized one so far. So any recommendations, ideas, etc. . . are all welcome. Bring it in and hopefully I'll bring a brand new me!

Hi, I'm Annie. I have two very energetic kids. A boy who will be 5 in April and a girl who is 2 1/2. I home-school preschool my son because he is slightly tongue-tied and is hard to understand at times. My biggest obstacles are fitting in workouts and school time as well as just keeping up with the two of them. My goal is to be able to run around with my kids and not feel out of breath.

Hello,

I am a mother of a 2 and 3 year old. My son is starting school in September and I am turning 30 in December.... two milestones I refuse to arrive at overweight!
Like most, this is not my first time at battling my weight but I am feeling very confident that it will be my last! I have tried and failed so many times and I always said to myself "well as long as you aren't fat when you hit 30"... well 30 is on it's way and I am still fat!!! emoticon

I am really excited to find buddies and a support system because I know that I can't do it alone. I look forward to chatting with a lot of you and getting to know you and your journey!
Good Luck!!!

Hi everyone. My name is Monica and I am the proud mom of 4 great kids: Robert (8), Patrick and Jackson (4 yr old identical twins), and Anna (3). The twins and Anna are 15 months apart. I am also wife (18 years) to Bill. My family is the majority of my focus, of course.

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I have been working toward having a healthy life for at least 10 years, but have hit a few bumps in the road along the way. I am committed to living a healthy life and the accountability offered by SP should help my acheive my goals. I make myself log my calories, water, and fitness minutes here every day.

I'm looking forward to sharing our victories with each other and holding each other up when when things don't work out the way we plan.

Hi, My name is Amanda I am 25 and I have a 3 year old daughter. I haven't been able to keep off the "baby" weight since I had her its been a roller coaster ride with my weight. I've been on SP for about a week now and so far it's helping a lot. I'm hoping to get the motivation my husband had when he lost his 100 pounds!!!!

Good luck to everyone

Hello I'm a 31 year old my of a 4 and 8 year old. I've struggled with the weight ever since having my boys. Am tired of caring the extra weight around and looking for a buddy to help me stay accountable to my goals. This is my 3rd day here on SP and so far I'm doing good with staying on track. Been walking with the family the last two days and working out the last 3. I've come to the conclusion that the only thing holding me back is ME not making the decision to change; so here I am making changes to make my life better.

Hi,
I'm Laura and I am 27 years old. I am in need of motivation and support to help me lose weight. I am a stay at home mom of two boys and my fiance is a long haul truck driver. You'd think the running around with the kids would help me be fit and energized, but it's not and I just can't keep up with them. I am new to this site, so any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi, my name is Kristi and I am a very busy mother of 3 ages 3, 5, and 9. My husband also has a busy schedule, which leaves me with the childcare most of the time. He is gone from 5am to 9pm for work and completing his masters degree. I also work full time at a university teaching in the nursing program, so it is very difficult to find time to exercise and eat right. I really want my kids to develop sound eating habits because obesity is such a problem now in this country. Luckily, they are all active and healthy now, but I want it to stay that way and I need to be a proper role model. I just started this 1 week ago, so I need to stay motivated!

Hello, I am Heather. I have two daughters, Abigail who is 7 months, and Caitlin who is two. I've been lucky in that I have fairly "easy" babies and Caitlin LOVES being a big sister so far! I work full time and they are in an in-home day care part time with two other little girls, and part time with Grandma.

I joined a gym the beginning of January and have been working out during my lunch breaks fairly consistently since. Diet is somewhat of an issue, as I am kind of streaky in eating healthy. My goal is to lose 20 pounds and get back to where I was when I got married. I am finishing up week three of c25k and am seriously considering registering for a 5k this spring to keep myself motivated to meet that goal.

I'm a mom to a very busy 2.5 yr old. She thinks she is 20. Anyway I stay home with her. We also have my grandpa living with us. I have been battling my weight since I left home for college. I starting losing weight and then got pregnant with my daughter. After she was born I starting losing again and then last year we went through some stressful stuff and I put weight back on and then some. I reached my highest weight right after Christmas. January 2 I decided I need to take back control of my life and stop being sorry for myself. I started recording what I ate and a couple of weeks ago I joined a gym with childcare. So now I don't have an excuse to work out. I want to be a good example for my daughter and have the energy to chase her around :)

Hi!

I'm Becca. I have two children of my own, an 11-year-old daughter, and an 8-year-old son. Currently, I am also raising my 4-year-old niece, while my sister gets clean. She's pretty far behind where she should be, on almost everything, but she's a fast learner! We've made huge strides on potty-training, in the six weeks she's been here, and she's learning the basic educational stuff (ABCs, colors, shapes, numbers, days of the week, etc.) pretty quickly.

As for me, I have epilepsy, which is what stopped my weight-loss in its tracks about 2 years ago. I'm ready to get back on track, and I have about 60-70 pounds to lose. I want to have a baby with my boyfriend of almost 7 years, and I need to be a lot more healthy, first. I love to walk, read, write, and sing.

I have made it a whole week today and have been able to exercise 4 days this week and so far Collin has enjoyed my new sparkpeople recipes :). Look forward to getting to know some of you!

Hi, just joined yesterday and am enjoying the site a lot. I'm 28 and live in New Zealand's shakiest city, Christchurch. I've spent many a year overweight after leaving home, and I just thought it was about time I did something about it. I have a 4yo daughter who is starting to pick up on my unhealthy eating habits and that is something I need to stop.

Hi, my name is Crystal and I am 22 years old. I have a 5 year old daughter named Rilee and have been married 6 years. I never struggled (well, not really) with my weight until after I had my daughter, ever since then I've weighted between 150-171 (current weight) and I'm sick of it. I joined the Y at the end of last month. My goal is to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 120 Lbs, and to cut down on my risk of health problems (diabetes, heart disease, strokes, and high blood pressure run in my family). I have a long way to go and am hoping that Sparkpeople will help me out greatly.

Hi! My name is Michelle, and I am a 29-year-old mother of 2. My daughter will be 3 in April and my son is 8 months. Getting the hang of life with two kids has taken a lot longer than it did after our first. Everything was more stressful this time around. But I'm finally ready to get off my ass and stop whining about how tired I am.

My name is Sarah, and I'm mom to a 2 year old (she'll be 3 in April) and a 4 month old. Babyfit was an awesome way for me to control my weight gain during pregnancy, and since I'm not nursing anymore, I thought I'd give SparkPeople a try. I work out of the home, and I can't stomach picking up my children from one daycare and dropping them off at another one at the gym so that I can work out, so I struggle to find time for fitness. I'm going to try to get to the gym over my lunch breaks-- we'll see! More than anything, I want to model a healthy lifestyle and healthy choices for my kids.

Hello I am Heather. I have an extra special 3yr old son named anthony. Her is in Special Ed preschool bvecause he has Apraxia of Speech (He is unable to speak yet.) I have 3 other children as well but my extra special little boy is one main motivation I Have to become healthy. I want to slim down some I guess I do not want to become a single size girl but alot lower double digit closer to my 12 yr olds age would make me happy.

Hi! My name is Amie and I also have twins they are 2, a boy (Riley) and a girl (Mackenzie). I am a nurse in our local Emergency Department working full time and of course feel like I have no time for myself! I also had lap band surgery almost a year ago in April, with what I think is great success! I am down 55-60 pounds! My cousin is planning a visit and she will be coming to Ohio from Nevada in September. We are wanting to go to an amusement park here in Ohio while she and her family are here. We both need to lose a bunch before we can fit on the rides! We both decided to join up somewhere for motivation and help in the process!! I am sure she will be on here soon!! My biggest problem is motivation and "fitting" in exercise other than chasing 2 year olds around and working full time!!! emoticon

Hi, I'm Kira and I'm a single working mom to one almost five year-old girl. She's "busy, busy, busy" (as my mom likes to put it) and can definitely try my patience when it comes to maintaining a structured life, which I've found is necessary to succeed with healthy living. I've always preferred reading & art over physical activity, but got hooked on working out and healthy eating in high school. Living a healthy life did become a little more difficult once I started working full-time, but I always managed until I became pregnant. I still haven't come more than 10 pounds within my pre-pregnancy weight, and even then am never able to maintain that. I'm looking for some extra motivation and support from moms who are in similar positions.
