Definitely, keep your eye on the prize, IT will happen, all those good days adding up (of exercising and counting cal's) will show the results. It's NOT too late for us 40 something year olds! Woo Hoo! Don't sweat the off days, cause we ALL have them, just make sure the good days out number them and you will be fine.

Have a super weekend!

WOW! Went to your page and SAW the accomplishments you've made - it is inspiring! There are so many reasons to do this (health, comfort, emotions... ) and so much to look forward to. Seeing your story helps me with that looking forward part - instead of thinking "ugh, walking and calorie counting the rest of my life..." emoticon

Hi, I'm Michelle and I just found this team. I will be 42 next week and my youngest two children are 3 1/2 and 5. My son will start pre-school this Fall.
I am looking forward to being a part of this team, I too like smaller teams! My household isn't quite as busy as yours, my oldest will be 21 next week and lives a short distance from home. My 15 and 17 year olds live in CA with their father and I only get them summers and holidays. But I think it's safe to say that two small children in the home is busy enough! I have been exactly where you are. I hit my low and reached out to my hubby, got his support, saw my doctor and made a plan to make some serious changes in a year. I am now on 1 year and 7 months since I made that decision and I've gained my health back, my energy and my peace of mind. You are WORTH every bit of work it will take and you can SO DO this. I look forward to seeing your successes as we journey along! Nice to meet you Lisa!

I've been on here a few days now, getting acquainted with things. Finally taking a few minutes out for the introduction.
I am Lisa, age 42. Adopted a child 12 years ago (now 20!) and lived as a single parent before marrying my best friend at the age of 39. I gained two step-children (13 and autistic 11). THEN I got pregnant at the age of 40! My daughter is almost 15 months old. It makes for a hectic family life, but the big kids are SUCH a help.
I have struggled with weight since the age of 30 - down to size 10 doing low carb once. Back up and then down to 144 on WW. Back up to 196 by my wedding. I lost weight during my pregnancy and lost more after coming home from the hospital. I was down to 163 June, 2007 (less than 30 from my goal!) however, over the next four months gained 44! Very depressing and I absolutely hated myself for it.
I finally broke down and opened up to my husband how I was doing emotionally and physically and that was the beginning of what I want to be a change. I already feel better and am proud of every little step I take in this journey.
I was thrilled to find this site and love that I found a little "intimate" group to join. I like our "smallness" (not that others wouldn't be invited!). I don't know how active everyone here still is, but I'm hoping to share this adventure with whoever is willing! (Sorry to write such a "book" but wanted you to know where I was coming from.)
