Welcome, Somer!! Two years ago I weighed 422 and now I am down to almost 200 pounds. With a little work and dedication you can do anything you put your mind to. I hope I can help encourage you and help you reach your goals. This is such a great place to be and the members here are just awesome. So is our leader, Dusty. Just love her to pieces! Good luck and I am looking forward to getting to know you.

Hugs, Lauri

Thanks, everyone! The weekends are the roughest on wanting fast food, but it is Sunday, and I haven't had any, and don't plan too. When I don't feel like cooking, it's a soup or sandwich kinf of night, instead of fast food. Again, thanks for all the welcomes. I am excited to be here.

Welcome! You sound like me 3 months ago. I am also 31. I was eating fast food every day breakfast and lunch and I also always had my big mug of Mountain Dew. I had to completely cut it out of my life. I have gradually worked up my fitness level but just tracking my food on sparkpeople every day and bringing a lunch from home every day has been amazing on my health and my budget. Good luck!

emoticon emoticon emoticon glad you are here! I totally get the fast food thing-Just over a year ago I ate fast food every single day-yes every day! Now I can't imagine going once a month! There are lots of fitness videos on sparkpeople-try some of the seated videos to get you started. I f you start slow and work your way up you may have more success than trying too much at once!

Hi, Somer! Welcome to the team!

You can do this! A year ago I was over 400 and felt totally hopeless, it's amazing how much a person can accomplish in a year.

Well, I was searching for a semi small team to join, so here I am. I have about 200 pounds to lose (wow, did I just admit that?). My name is Somer and I live in central Missouri. I have been on and off exercise programs and eating healthy for awhile now. As I stepped on the scale a bit ago, I was so sad. I have been in denial about just how much I weigh. It is time to get this under control, NOW. So, my plans are to start back on thyroid medication, make an appointment with my doctor so I can do lab work to make sure I am taking correct dose, no fast food (no exceptions), and move daily (whether it be a walk or a workout program (T25, probably). I know we are only a week into the new year, but I have not had a pop or fast food since a few days before the new year. That is pretty big. You see, I was having McDonald's at least 4 times a week. Yea, four times a week! Crazy, right?! I have been tempted, but I have not gave in to my urges! Same goes for the Dr. Pepper! Now, drinking water is not a problem - I love water! My issue now is to get off my lazy ass five times a week! I can do this. There are workout programs I enjoy (well, ones that are not too torturous, such as T25). I can do this. I have to do this. I am 31 years old, weigh over 300 pounds, have high blood pressure (although not medicated yet). I have to get this weight under control. This is MY year. This is OUR year. We CAN do this. I am here to receive support and motivation, and here to give support and motivation. Now, let's do this!
